About this listen

Caryn O’Neal has taken a consulting assignment with an aerospace company. She expected the job to be both challenging and rewarding. But she couldn’t have known the challenges would include sabotage, murder, and an attempt on her own life. Loved it.

Caryn o'neal is on a consulting assignment at an aerospace project. She discovers some discrepancies that put the project on delay. There is several murders, sabotage and a under cover FBI agent. This book kept my interest and was fast paced. The narrator Amy Williams does a great job. This book reminds me a little of Collen Cross' series, Katerina Cross. I definitely would more of this series. I was gifted this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

Fun Murder Mystery

I found this to be a fun mystery and being a mystery I don't want to give anything away so this may come off cryptic. This story was a little slower paced and a bit predictable in the mystery and romance but still enjoyable. There are natural places you can stop the book and then continue later so you don't have to try to finish it in one sitting. The narration was fine, just felt a bit forced in the heated or emotional scenes.

Great corporate murder mystery.

Caryn O'Neal works as a consultant for an aerospace company working on a contract for NASA. After she finds some troubling information as she is going over the reports on the project she brings it to her bosses attention. Unfortunately he does not take it well and as she is a grown adult she simply leaves the meeting until he can cool down. Alas, she left her planner with her car keys in the meeting room and is given 5 minutes to get it before she gets locked out by her boss. Five minutes later she arrives to find him dead. Now she struggles to find a killer, make sure something is done about the error she detected in the code, and convince herself she isn't interested in the handsomely mysterious consult from another company. Will she become the next target? Excellent mystery, excellent writing, and excellent narration. I look forward to more by this author. Light Easy Read

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review and all opinions expressed herein are mine.

Caryn has gotten a job as a consultant and discovers some major discrepancies which could jeopardize the success of the project. She reports the discrepancies but the firm appears to be disinterested. Shortly after leaving the meeting, Caryn discovers she forget her dayplanner and when she retrieves it, she finds a dead body. The resulting investigation seems to be focused on the project Caryn is working on and the problems with it.

This was a light and cute cozy. However, I found both the characters of Caryn and Reed [Caryn's love interest] to be a bit flat. I wanted to like them more and connect with them but I just didn't. There are some interesting twists in the murder mystery that I enjoyed.

The narrator did a good job overall.

Murder, Hint of Romance and some IT to boot

Entertaining and easy listening. Murder tied in with IT and a little romance blossom on the top.

A well researched and well written mystery........

A Trace of Treachery tells the story of Caryn O'Neal as she works a temporary job in Denver as what she describes as a software police officer. I am familiar with the steps followed in producing a comprehensive software program, and the author did a great job describing this process with an accurate yet interesting level of detail. Caryn is contracting with a company that designs software to launch space rockets, so the level of security required is intense, and she experiences constant push back from management as she discovers flaws in the development process. That is before she starts discovering dead bodies of said management. Then the investigation really heats up, both in danger and in romantic possibilities as she begins working with Reed St. John, another contract worker on the space travel software with a suspiciously high level of investigative talents. This book is a terrific whodunit mystery with just a dash of romance, and I think that even hardcore mystery lovers that hate romantic suspense would enjoy it.

Amy Williams does a great job with the narration. She differentiates well between characters, and she has the appropriate level of emotion in all sections of the book. This is my first experience with her narration, and I would listen to another of her performances in the future.

Rocket Science

Caryn O'Neal has been assigned a temporary consulting job in Denver, for a company that designs software to launch space rockets, as a software compliance consultant. Caryn discovers flaws in the development process and then comes across a number of dead bodies during the investigation. She works closely with and undercover FBI agent and a romance seems to develop between them. I found the audio version a bit hard to get into, but once I started concentrating it was a not bad listen. The narrator did a decent job and the story was fairly interesting.
