About this listen

Allison Bottke is the creative force behind the best-selling God Allows U-Turns series and ministry. Her first novel follows Dee Decker, who in the past year has lost 150 pounds, gained a whole new wardrobe filled with designer shoes, and become a Christian. But a job offer could cause her past and present to collide in a flash of Manolo Blahniks and Prada handbags. Dee thought she had it all figured out - but can a person really be both fashionable and faithful?©2006 Allison Bottke (P)2006 Recorded Books LLC Christian Fiction Fiction

Great book...warm, endearing story

I loved this book...it was a great listen! I thought it kept me engaged and I was able to really relate to the main character...I would encourage anyone to who loves, a great romantic story and loves fashion! It was funny, and brought tears too!

Liked it

I found this story to be a very fun "listen". I became a bit impatient with the main charactor but it was part of the charm. The end message was a good one. I enjoyed this authors second book even better.

Real life?

We can forgive with Christ as our guide. Sin leaves pain and destruction. The main character is able to accept her husband who has cheated on her and, as a result her family is repaired. If only so many families could be transformed through Christ's healing power.

Surprisingly good

Coming from a Christian perspective, I found this book surprisingly good. It combines high fashion, the corporate workplace, and down - home values that prevail at the end. A good, light listen.

Great for Christian women who love high fashion

As someone who doesn't give a hoot about fashion, this book was "just okay" for me. The story line was interesting, unique, and informative as it related to the main character's gastric bypass surgery and event planning career; however, the seemingly constant name-dropping of various designer labels was tiring for me. It was obnoxious. I will say that there seemed to be a point to that madness as the novel played out. I don't regret listening to the story and I can see how someone else (especially someone who knows the difference between Prada and Louis Vuitton) might love it, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Not a fan

Usually I listen to ever word author writes but this was hard. Narration was good. Do not know where this book went wrong. Doctors visits interesting.
