When he finds out Star has been keeping his sister’s secret, how will he react? Will that be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for them? Is Star’s immaturity something that he finally sees and can’t deal with? Will being daddy’s spoiled princess end up spoiling Star’s chances for true love? Karter finally finds out the real reason his mother left Staten Island all those years ago. After finding out, will that cause him to look atthe Vanducci family differently?

Lennon has more than a few skeletons in her closet. Some she has buried deep in the back of her mind, and others she had no problem sharing with Wahkeem.

When the one secret she promised to take to her grave is revealed, a domino effect erupts within the family, and everyone is trying to figure out how they missed what was clearly in their faces.

So Messy!!

I almost didn’t listen to this because I’m not a fan of Lacy Laurels narrative voice but she actually wasn’t terrible on this project. Ace is always a safe bet. I really like Jaquel J because of her imperfect characters. It forces me to exercise a great deal of empathy and be less judgmental. It’s easy for us as readers to say what they coulda woulda shoulda. I do honestly feel terrible for Yerrica and Shai for sticking with men who were weak and selfish. Glad they got away and hopefully will heal. Lin and Wah sigh they could have saved so many people from this mess but I see with their trauma and Wah’s abandonment issues there was a reason. Love Carter & Star down! And would love a Hitman’s Wife spin-off with Sky and Mo. This series had a lot less violence but so much mess. 10/10.

Wanted to stop listening but couldn’t😣

I’ve never hated two characters as much as the two in this book. The gaslighting, disrespect, delusions, lies, cheating, baby mamas, and more was a bit much! The apple definitely didn’t fall too far from the tree. Some deserved the ending they received but not all.

Love story

I knew that Lennon and Wahkeem couldn’t stay away from each other, they were destined to be together, Arika knew it too but tried to hold on to a failing marriage.

When it came to Carter he was the one to tame Star, she couldn’t resist his charm.
Do we finally found out the truth that made Vita run away 20 yrs ago. Do glad that Jamel was dealt with.

I loved this series.

honestly this series just got better and better I'm happybit ended the way it did I told myself if a certain couple didn't end up together I was going to be mad lol. but yes great read

hood Hampton

what I like about this book is it had a touch of hood and a touch of bougie life. The characters were really relatable and it just goes to show that black love is the out there and can be organic and not through meeting online. It also touched on subjects that we find taboo but also that doesn't need to be swept up under the rug Love is love no matter what color no matter what gender no matter what it's nobody business with somebody loves

This was really a great series. I love the characters and the story was well written. Ashland was annoying as heck but overall the book was really good.
