Very fun!

I really enjoyed this book! It was a cozy romantasy that all took place in Stormsby. Roz runs an inn and has fire magic within her. When the Kingsmen swamp her inn in pursuit of a shapeshifter, she meets the enticing Captain Caelan.

I enjoyed the banter and the mystery of who could be the shapeshifter. The audiobook was also amazing, narrated by Sara Brodt! Even though it's a single POV book, the male voices were done very well!

If you're looking for a cozy fantasy with some romance and spice, give this one a chance! 4.5/5 🥰

Such a wonderful listen!

Dang! The accents, the story, the unique magic system, I loved it all! There were moments that made me melt, others that made me swoon, and even more that made me smile.

Fantastic narration that captivates you into the story

Roz runs an inn and tavern that her late parents opened. While business could use an uptick, she did not anticipate it being overrun by the king’s guards. She also didn’t expect the captain to be so irritating…or so handsome.

Ava does a wonderful job of keeping the push-pull, tense and fiery moments throughout the book.

Sara Brodt did a phenomenal job with narration. Especially the lilt in Caelan’s voice!

Well written, well performed

A sweet story of magic and secrets and chemistry. I loved this quick read, and devoured it in a single day. The plot moves quickly, but the limited settings help keep you grounded in an effective way.

The moment I realized who the Serpent was, I literally yelled, “ah ha!”. It
was a good moment, and a great twist.

Sara is such a fabulous narrator and I love that I forget it isn’t two narrators through out the story.

I really enjoyed this story and didn’t predict the ending. It was fun and lighthearted. This was exactly what I needed to pull me out of a reading slump. Sara’s performance was fantastic, as always.

Cute, steamy fantasy

Enough of a plot & mystery to keep me in it til the end. Not a ton of the world-building details I enjoy in a fantasy novel though. The narrator was pretty good, but I struggled with a few pronunciation choices.

Brilliant narration and fantastic storytelling

Sara is an absolutely brilliant narrator. She really pulls you in and you get lost in the story itself. Her "male" voices are absolutely perfect. I mention this because I find sometimes female voice actors make the male voices so weird. But Sara has this absolutely down.

The story itself was fantastic. I love a good tavern tale and this one absolutely hit that spot. I liked that there's a little mystery and some danger here as well. You won't regret giving this one a listen!
