When she buys a little piece of paradise with her husband-to-be in a sleepy Panamanian village, she is shocked to discover that “living the dream” is not at all what she had imagined it to be. Not only is she elbows deep in the Panamanian system trying to operate a business, but she’s horrified that she is now viewed as a rich American capitalist. This new identity, as well as the conflicting perspectives of her husband, force her to reevaluate her long held belief systems around money, success, and even herself.
