About this listen

From USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa comes a heart-gripping, single mom, age gap, secret billionaire romance.

I don’t have time for flings.

Love is out of the question.

As a single mom and small-town doctor, my plate is more than full.

But when Drake Kershaw, an experienced physician with a mysterious past, comes into my life, I can't resist his charm. He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met before.

Drake is smart, charming, and has a heart of gold.

But he’s also grumpy and hesitant to let anyone close.

Like the rest of his wealthy family, he’s full of secrets.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s dangerous.

I should stay away, but how can I when he works in my practice?

And despite his grumpiness, Drake is amazing with my son.

He’s patient and kind and has a way of making him laugh that always melts my heart.

Watching them together, I can imagine a future–a future that could never happen.

But can we find a way to overcome our emotional scars and build a future together?

A Place Like You is the first book in the Heartwood Lake Secret Billionaire Series—an emotional rollercoaster of a journey that combines the intense drama of Succession and the hilarity of Schitt's Creek. A must-listen.

Great story

I was so excited when I heard the Claudia Burgoa was releasing a new series and if A Place Like You is anything to go by, then she has another winning series on her hands.

Such was the descriptive writing I could easily picture myself in Colorado whilst reading. I love single parent stories, add in some suspense with the romance and for me it is a win/win. Drake and his siblings have relocated to Colorado for their protection. The last thing he expected was to be attracted to Wren, a fellow doctor and single mother.

The narration by Patrick Zeller and Grace Grant drew me in and had me invested as I listened to their narration. They brought the story and characters to life for me. Their voices are easy to listen too, and they expressed all the drama, romance and passion

However, the heart wants who the heart wants and the attraction that sizzes between them is too powerful to overlook. As the walls they have both built, begin to crumble they both must learn to trust again. The question is are they prepared to put in the work?

I was all in on this audio! It was so good!

I don't think I've ever listened to a male narrator bring the emotions and angst to a character the way Patrick Zeller did with Drake. He was PHENOMENAL! Grace Grant was also amazing as Wren and this narration duo made me love this story and couple.
Wren and Drake had a slow burn, soul searing connection that she tried to fight to no avail. There's a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding them as individuals, that makes them feel as though they can't be together. The way his heart yearned for her, and loved her son as his own was so beautiful.
The family dynamics were interesting and made me want to know more. This was a great start to a new series and I look forward to all the secrets being revealed in future books.

Enjoyed Wren and Drake's romance!

Swoon! A Place Like You by Claudia Burgoa was a sweet and swoony love story about finding love in unexpected places. If you like a single mom/ doctor romance mixed with a secret identity all set in a small town, then you will love Drake and Wren's romance.

Grace Grant and Patrick Zellar perform this audiobook in dual narration, and both embody their characters to the fullest. Grace captured Wren's hesitancy and dedication to her son perfectly while Patrick was spot on conveying Drake's persistent, loving nature. Both built the tension and the slow-burn magnetic chemistry that had me longing for Wren and Drake to find their HEA.

Great start to the new series with great narration

Welcome to the quaint town of Heartwood Lake!!
A place Like You is Book one in the new Heartwood LakeSecret Billionaires Series and if Wren and Drake’s emotional and entertaining story is anything to go by Ms Burgoa will certainly have another hit series on her hands.
Grace Grant and Patrick Zeller did a great job bring the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with emotion and really made me feel part of the small town of Heartwood Lake.
Life in Heartwood Lakes is not what it seems, secrets are being kept and not everyone is who they say they are but the one thing they all want is to protect their families and partners.
Wren is used to being loved and left and all she wants us a man to stay so she doesn’t give her trust easily but Drake is determined to prove he is worthy of her taking another chance on a man even if that means giving her his true identity……
This book ticked all my boxes and I’m excited for what’s to come from the billionaires of Heartwood Lake.

Great story and narration

Heartwood Lake Billionaires Series is off to a great start with A Place Like You. The Kershaw family is going to keep us on our toes and entertained. This is Drew’s book, but many of his family members make an appearance. There are many secrets surrounding their family and Claudia is going to keep us guessing throughout this series.

Wren is a single mom and the lone doctor in town…she doesn’t like to ask for help but she could really use some to help balance her life.

The initial meeting between the two does not go as Drew expected but a turn of events changes Wren’s feelings towards him. They begin to build a sweet friendship that leads to more.

This is a slow burn, mysterious read that will keep your attention to the end. Looking forward to the other books in their series and learning more about who’s behind all the reason the Kershaw’s are in town.

Patrick Zeller and Grace Grant gave great performances! They gave the characters perfection emotion, personality and voice.

A Place Like You !!!

Welcome Kershaw’s Family to witness protection in Heartwood Lake . This small and quiet town is full of legendary locals who know everything there is to know about everybody .. that is if you’re a local . The townies of Heartwood Lake aren’t 100% clued in on why their newcomer turnover rate is so high - but that doesn’t stop them from enjoying them while they are there . The townies become extremely interested when the Kershaw’s move into town with all eyes focused on Dr. Drake Kershaw who is mysterious, smokin hot, a billionaire and very sweet . But his eyes are set on the gorgeous single mother who is also a skilled doctor, Dr. Wren Lynch and her adorable son Milo .

I’m excited to see where the rest of this series is going to take us and I hope we see more of these 3 and their perfect little family !

This is book one in the Heartwood Lake Secret Billionaires series and it can be read as a complete standalone .

Wren & Drake

This one had a lot of potential for me, some of my favorite tropes including single parent,  age gap and small town but the romance itself was a bit lacking for me. It moved from Wren being very skeptical of Drake to her quickly doing a huge shift and all of a sudden they were basically in love. A bit rushed for me, it didn’t feel like there was enough time and development for them to really be all in yet. It definitely wasn’t all bad, I enjoyed the town, Wren’s adorable son and the mystery surrounding Drake’s families past. I just wish we felt more of a romantic connection between Wren and Drake.

Sweet Small Town Billionaire Romance

Drake Kershaw, an experienced physician with a mysterious past moved into Heartwood Lake under a private witness protection program. There he met Wren Lynch, the local doctor at the only clinic in town. Despite being a billionaire, he still wants to work at the clinic, as medicine is all he knows, but Wren hesitates to hire the strangers full of secrets…

I am officially addicted to the universe that Claudia has created, so far, all of her series are intertwined in some ways and this series is not an exception. We hear a little about Wren from Finnigan, the hero from one of her Decker Family duets. Wren is working with Finn, the owner of the private witness protection program, and Drake and his family are their latest clients. This was a sweet albeit too short story about Wren and Drake, weaving through their attraction while working together in that small clinic. Both have baggage from the past, Wren being a single mother and Drake with a complicated family dynamic. I love seeing Drake being a good father figure to Milo, it always gets me every single time! I just wish it was a tad bit longer, the last 30% seems pretty rushed, otherwise, it was a beautiful heartwarming love story.

If you want to listen to a very heartfelt performance and very enthusiastic smut reading? Look no further for Patrick Zeller, and NEVER EVER listen with a speaker, use your earbuds, cause he always went all out and I swear I blushed every time. Grace did amazing too, I highly recommend the audio version!

quick, smalltown, single mom romance

small town, found family, single mom, age gaps, secret billionaire and a little bit of mystery 💜

heartwood lake is a cute small town full of all the fun characters—and the home of a witness protection program, so there are plenty of people who come and go quickly. the most recent new comers are the kershaw’s. they aren’t your average family but they do bring the drama with their crazy history. wren is a single mom and town doctor who really needs help. drake kershaw just so happens to be a world renowned surgeon in need of work. they go from unsure to love pretty fast so i felt like i wanted better interactions and build up to their connection. i actually liked the relationship between drake and milo, wren’s son, the most. i like the town and love wren’s found family. plus the dynamics of drake’s actual family are truly wild. this is a good start to the series even if i was left wanting a little more.

i listened to the audio and it is a quick, enjoyable listen at 6.5 hours and Grace Grant and Patrick Zeller really packed a punch with their narration. so well done.
