About this listen

"A page-turning cozy mystery with lovable characters, a quirky small town, an ice cream-loving sleuth, and a super cute dog!"

Newspaper reporter Deanna Devlin finally gets a promotion from writing puff pieces to covering more serious stories. Unfortunately, her next assignment hits a little too close to home when one of her friends is accused of murdering a local book store owner.

Deanna knows her friend couldn't have committed the crime, but the only way to prove it to the police is to find the real killer herself. There are no shortage of suspects in the case, including a tarot-card loving mistress, a jaded wife, a sleazy land developer, and a sassy mother-in-law.

With the clock ticking, Deanna scrambles to uncover the truth before it's too late.

A Great Cozy Mystery

This is a short, cozy, mysteryDeanns Devlin is a journalist who also acts like an amateur sleuth. She always wants to advance to good stories instead of the puff stories. She is investigating a murder her friend is accused of being the killer.Grandma Gwen wants her to do the inveinvestigating. She gets to investigate many people who have no alibis, many innocent who act guilty or lie to cover personal dealings. Some have been cheating on their spouse. There are so many twists and turns. Deanna and Joe go to the bookstore " Chapters Galore", there is an Author reading going on. The book reading was so bad people were leaving. Kenneth Gibson owns the bookstore and his son is dating someone with piercings and tattoos. The son after words with his dad tells his Dad they are engaged. The Dad says the marriage will take place over his dead body. Somebody has been trying to buy the bookstore property but Kenneth refuses to sell. NOW, Kenneth is found dead, many people dislike him. You have to read to find out who did this. The characters are believable and interesting, The narration is good and keeps your interest till the end of the book. Enjoy finding out who did this. This is a clean book. No Frank Sex, Gore, or Foul Language.

Great Read

A Novel to Die For (Deanna Devlin, Desert Detective Cozy Mystery #2) was a great read by Bridget Bowman. Deanna is a newspaper reporter who was just promoted to covering serious stories. Unfortunately her next assignment covers one of her friends that is accused of murdering a book store owner. She needs to find the killer so her friend could be set free. I loved reading this story and can’t wait to read more books about Deanna Devlin.

Good read, good series so far

A Novel To Die For (Deanna Devlin, Desert Detective Cozy Mystery #2), my second read/listen from author Bridget Bowman. A cute, well-written clean cozy mystery. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Narrator Rachel Carr’s narration adds to the well-written book’s enjoyment. I'll be reading more from this author. Bookstore Murder

Think "Murder She Wrote" with a newspaper reporter instead of an author and you have Deanna Devlin. Can she really travel around with a detective and do suspect interviews - no. But is it entertaining fiction - you betchya. When a bookstore owner is stabbed to death the suspects are familiar. His wife, his son, his mistress, and a land developer are top of the list. Let the pressures of the day evaporate and folllow Deanna as she solves the crime. I was gifted this from the author.
