About this listen

Liverpool, 1961. A group of young men come together seeking fame and fortune as the fledgling sounds of the Swinging '60s take root in the city. Soon, Liverpool becomes synonymous with the groups and music that shape a generation.

Liverpool, 1999. Skeletal remains found in the docklands lead Detective Inspector Andy Ross and Sergeant Izzie Drake into a journey through time as the investigation takes them back to early days of the Mersey Beat.

good story

I enjoyed the story but the narration was rather stilted and didn't really flow properly

Glad I decided to give this a listen

I like Golden Age British mysteries, but decided to give this more modern mystery a listen. Here's what I liked about it...
** Superb narration
** Well written story with descriptive details that set the various scenes
** Protagonists working together without antagonism or pettiness.
** Identifiable protagonists employing reason & sound speculation to reach conclusions
** Contains some violence, but not gratuitously. Unlike many modern day mystery books.

Now I'm off to listen to book 2.

inane, poorly written and unoriginal. I could not like any of the characters. Will look further for a new series.
