Good book but kind of a tragic romance Vibe - A little spoiler alert

The Book overall was good but maybe not my cuppa tea. When I think of romance, I want fairytale and love is always possible. What you get with this book is more Of a tragic ending there’s friendship but the main male character really never gets the one he loves and the kind hearted woman excepts that her husband will never truly love her or can’t love her! I just don’t like the way it ends.

Tender, quick audio book if you are in to romance and storytelling.
I love the fantasy edge to it but its not to overwhelming.

Romantic, understated, interesting

Who was your favorite character and why?

Leatra. She is the best example of a well-rounded character in this story, as the others are more two-dimensional.

What about Shelby Lewis’s performance did you like?

She was very easy to listen to, and her voice characterization was successful.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was a very easy listen.

Any additional comments?

Definite commendation for people who want a chaste, romantic story - it is about feelings and connections, rather than sexual gymnastics.

Good, But...

I liked the story, however I fell like I am missing a lot of the book. The last chapter jumps 3 years in the future without warning. I even checked to make sure I hadn’t accidentally skipped ahead in the book. I would have liked to see how they became married and how others reacted. I would have liked to see how they act together and fell in love (even through the merman can’t fall in love again)

This is supposed to be a romance?

This book is awful! What in the world is up with this book is this supposed to be a romance? It is just tragic I feel sorry for the merman. Had to stop with out finishing and to how horrible the main character is and I stopped with only 20 minutes left. If you want romance don't read this book.

bittersweet and clean

this was a very good story it was short which was fine it is a little mermaid-ish storyyou don't see a lot of bittersweet and that was kind of different for me and I enjoyed that it's clean squeaky clean not even a kiss

A sweet romance 😍

It's nice short and sweet. Definately a good comfort listen especially with that smooth wet voice😍.

The shortness

Did Shelby Lewis do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Not really. Her voice somewhat changed in between but it was hard to tell between a few characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending was lovely.
