Publisher's summary

On June 12th, Nik whispered three words to Leo: "Close your eyes", committing an act so unthinkable for a girl who painted and dreamed up poems. That day, Nik shattered the peace of a small California town. Seemingly gone forever from Leo's life, Nik left behind only a cryptic notebook with names and dark motives.

Eleven years later, Leo, now a New York lawyer seeking redemption for his past failures, stumbles upon Nik at a mysterious art soirée for a renowned, anonymous artist. He believes she is the muse—the catalyst behind the masterpieces, the famed artist drawing inspiration from her tragic past. Their reunion plunges him into a clandestine world of underground art and shadowy characters, where justice and retribution intertwine.

As Leo delves deeper, he uncovers unsettling connections between Nik's circle and his own cases. When a figure from his past turns up dead, Leo must confront a chilling possibility: are they artists, vigilantes, or something far more sinister?

Great Audio reader!!

Sean is a great audible reader, and Evelyn alone is an amazing writer. The story was gripping all the way through with the timeline bouncing between the present and past memories. Highly recommend!

A Love Letter to SA Survivors

𝐀 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞 paints a stark picture of injustice that made me struggle with my moral compass. I confess, my favorite characters in this story are those who exist in morally grey areas.

Everyone and everything is shrouded in mystery, and the various twists and turns kept me on my toes.

I most especially appreciate how delicately SA is handled in this narrative. It is not merely mentioned to paint a sob story for the FMC, but is actually a plot element that is intricately woven into the narrative—showing how one can be a victim, then a fighter, and then finally, a survivor.

I'm not going to spoil the ending, but I can say that I am satisfied with how everything was wrapped up.

My only gripe, and this is out of my personal preference and not at all the shortcomings of the narrator, is that I would have preferred this to be narrated by a female voice. Or perhaps, a duo performance. Nik’s voice is so delicate, and I would have loved it better if it were a female narrator doing her part.
