About this listen

The dream was always the same. One by one, the stars wink out and darkness fills the sky.

Ember has had that dream for as long as she can remember, but in her line of work, it's no wonder that nightmares plague her. Caught between court intrigue and a resistance movement, Ember plans her revenge as a spy while secretly navigating what remains of the noble Seelie court.

When the terrifying Unseelie Prince comes looking for a bride, Ember's plans take shape in the most dangerous way. Now forced to play the part of a willing bride in front of an enemy court, Ember discovers that her deal with the Prince may be more than she bargained for.

Fans of Sarah J. Maas and Jennifer L. Armentrout will love this Pride and Prejudice retelling with a fantasy twist!

Fantastic

I listen to a ton of audiobooks, but this is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I love the world, and how intricate and creative it is. So believable, but also has the most amazing fantasy elements. The characters are absolutely wonderful. Each one has such a depth and Different attributes that are so uniquely them. While I was listening, I could just imagine what they were feeling and doing without even needing to be told. Enemies to lovers will always be my favorite, and this was done to perfection. Madeleine‘s writing is absolutely breathtaking. I can’t wait to start book two.

"I have loved you since the moment you first called me a monster.”

🌶️🌶️🌶️

A Dream of Stars and Darkness is the first book the Queen of All Fae series by Madeleine Eliot and it was incredibly easy to fall in love with. I listened to this story on audible and read along with kindle. The narrator was wonderful!

This story has enemies to lovers, fated mates, found family, passion, fake dating, a brave, sarcastic, and intelligent FMC, deliciously shameless banter, and a possessive MMC.

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters we met, the relationship our FMC has with her best friend, the mysteries uncovered, and the tender yet claiming romance that blossomed.

A Dream of Stars and Darkness executes all the making of an amazing, cozy, fae fantasy romance. I highly recommend this story to those who enjoy fantasy, romance, and fantasy romance.

Not great

not a bad story but the performance and the writing/ pacing was just bad. the character development was not there. the pacing was odd and everything was so very predictable. I felt like I was reading a teen novel with how the characters acted. I got through it but it was difficult.

Amazing!

I originally read this book on KU and the author was kind enough to send me an audible code to listen to it! I loved every moment!! This version really brought Ember and Hadrian’s story to life! Ember is truly a firecracker and I loved her become everything she was meant to be!!

I knew from the moment Hadrian came into the picture Ember was done for! But in the best way! I can not wait to continue this series with the upcoming Book Three!

Awesome story!

I loved this story and have already downloaded the next one to read. The narrator did a great job with female voices, but only ok with the male characters. It was like she was trying too hard to get that deep gravelly sound that it made her words and intonation come out too forced.

Cheesy story and terrible narration

The story took every predictable turn and too quickly. The narrator can’t do male voices and is terrible at accents. She made the kings accent change from Scottish, to British to African and American. Just awful.

Gorgeous world, witty banter, enemies to lovers

I picked this one up randomly and am so glad I did because it got me out of my reading slump. The narrator was fantastic and brought the characters and their witty banter to life. Lots of Cruel Prince and ACOTAR vibes so if you enjoyed those, this one will be right up your alley. Loved the banter and the enemies-to-lovers romance and all the beautiful dresses. Hadrian and his shadows were too adorable! Though I doubt he’d appreciate being described that way, being the big bad evil prince and all. And Ember’s friendship with Aurelia was so sweet. Can’t wait to dive into the next book with Aurelia and Aspen’s story!

What you can expect:
> Enemies to lovers
> Only one bed
> Fake engagement
> Hidden identify

A Fun Fantasy Romance With All The Best Tropes

This book was so fun it was hard to put down. It had Bridgerton style vibes but with Fae, magic, rebellion, and a lot more danger. Leaning heavily on popular tropes this book is great for a no stress fun read with plenty of spice.
