About this listen

Karis Booth has had psychic abilities for as long as she can remember. But this is the first time she’s used them to solve a murder.

Things are changing rapidly for Karis. As well as filing for divorce from her unfaithful husband, she decides it’s time to make peace with her estranged sister, Erin. With trepidation, Karis visits the café which Erin owns. To her great relief, Erin welcomes Karis back into her life with open arms.

During their reconciliation, a young woman, Carmel, calls into the café with a bread delivery. As Karis watches Carmel, she experiences a strong psychic vision. She sees two shadows following Carmel. Only one of the shadows belongs to Carmel - the other belongs to the person who is going to murder her later that day.

With help from her sister and an old neighbor, Karis does all that she can to find out who murdered Carmel. It doesn’t help that the investigating officer is an ex-boyfriend who broke up with Karis because he couldn’t cope with her psychic abilities. Despite this, Karis won’t rest until she finds the killer.

good story

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Karis has physic abilities and has premonitions. When visiting her sister at her sisters bakery, she has a premonition regarding one of the delivery drivers. She is able to help with the investigation with an old friend.

The narration was ok, but there did seem to be some technical issues with the recording, almost like an echo.

Great!

I really enjoyed the narration and the pace of this book. I was hooked from the beginning. This book really makes you see the burden it can have if you had psychic abilities. Definitely cant wait to hear more! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

British Cozy Mystery

This is the first book in the Psychic Cafe Mystery series. I have been enjoying a few paranormal cozy mysteries lately so I decided to give this one a try. The story is set in a small town in England. Sometimes, I have a hard time with British accents but the narrator did a fairly good job bringing the story to life.

This story was interesting and kept me interested from beginning to conclusion. There is suspense, danger, psychic visions, humor, and an old fling as the main detective. The plot is clever and there are a few twists I did not see coming.

I’m looking forward to book 2 in this short fun cozy mystery series. Hope there will be a touch of romance in the next book.

Disappointing narration

I'm not a fan of the narration for this book, the character voices were difficult to tell apart and the male voices were not convincing. The phrasing was done strangely at times and there were mistakes that weren't edited out. Overall is was disappointing.

The book was quite good. They mystery element was well crafted it wasn't obvious who the murdered was and all the clues were laid so it made sense when the reveal was done.

The characters are well developed and their interactions were interesting and at times amusing.

Overall and enjoyable book, but I wish I'd read the eBook.

Seeing is Believing

A woman's clairvoyant gift shows her a murder in a small town. When the subject of her vision ends up dead, she sets out to find the murderer - with or without the help of the local police.
This story has a healthy helping of charming small town life blended with a nasty murder and an even nastier murderer. Well written with an interesting heroine who,s finding herself after a divorce, dealing with the stigma of her paranormal abilities and mending fences with childhood friends and family.
An entertaining read that's not too dark.

A Deadly Listen

A Deadly Delivery
: April Fernsby

A cute British Cozy Mystery. I love the setting and the characters were interesting.

The narration was irritating. Sangita Chauhan's voice was ok, but whatever recording program was used had a metalic hollow sound.

Great Book!

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. The narrator did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Terrible recording

This recording should not have been released. The sound was very tin-ey and sounded like it was recorded in a tunnel. If this was to be re-released with a higher quality recording I would update my review. I enjoyed the story and the mystery

Read the Book

I liked this British cozy mystery! I enjoyed Ms Fernsby’s Brimstone Witch Mystery and was thrilled when I checked and saw she had two more releases for March. I begged and received a promo code and regret it. I’m heartsick to rate it low and NOT recommend one of her books.
At first, when I listened to the sample and realized the narrator had a British accent, I expected no less than Ms Fernsby submerging authenticity.
However, the recording was atrocious. A three hour true cozy should not take me five bloody days to get through! I had immediately downloaded the audio and cringed. I thought I would babystep listen for twenty minutes at a time. I had not expected to start over twenty times because I was just trying to get through it, and not listening.
Read the book. Gift the book. I’m going to buy the book and give a justified review on the book version.
The story itself was charming. The characters were interesting, whenever I was able to tune out the echo-y sound. It really sounded like the narrator was in an empty closet or small room.
I would never pick up another book if it is narrated by Sangita Chauhan.
