Fresh and interesting!

I really like this book and the series. It's several story lines mix together and presented with warmth and humor while still keeping several mysteries and secrets plotting right along. There are twists and turns that work well and make it interesting. The characters are well developed and very likable. Dialog between characters is well done. It's like a mix of Stephanie Plum, Katniss, Eve Dallas, and Madeline all blended together and it works to make a cast of great characters that you want to get to know. I've enjoyed the first book in the series and it gets better. I love the narrator, Shannon McManus, she makes the characters come to life. It's light and fun and you don't want to stop listening!

Don’t know how I stumbled onto this book but was hooked by the end of the first chapter. It’s a Great intro to the series, looking forward to the rest of the books.

The main character is idiotic and annoying as are most of the characters but slightly less than the main character.

Good book just needs less swear words in it

I like clean books like romance,historical romances friction. I like Debby M combed books a lot.

Awesome listen!

This is the first book I’ve read from Denise Grover Swank. At the start of the book I thought perhaps I was missing too much context as I hadn’t listening to/read the Rose Garden Mysteries where the Carly character originated. But, I continued and caught up quickly. It’s was fantastic! I’m off to listen to the second Carly Moore book! Shannon McManus did a great job as well.

Sorry to say this book, book 1 I regret bc I know now it just gets worse from here. I optimistically kept reading the series & I want my time&money back. Forget about being excited to see where the Carly Wyatt relationship goes. It’s nonexistent besides some scenes that honestly make Carly unlikable. Author let me down. Glad I didn’t buy any others of hers outside this series is all I can say. Boring simple basic just gets worse with each book.

Really enjoyed this

I love books that become a series. I find myself much more invested in characters when I know there’s more to come.
This book was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, there were lots of twists I never saw coming. The characters are well developed and they suck you right in to their lives. You feel like you know them. Im looking forward to listening to the rest of the series!

Wait for the suspense

After chapter 6 is when it keeps you in edge of your seat! Interestingly a good read!

Denise does it again

I was prepared to like this book because Denise is an amazing author, but I am in love. I couldn’t read it fast enough, the suspense was killing me. First book in a new series and it’s a must read. A girl on the run from her past, ends up in a small Tennessee town, off the grid and Leary to trust anyone. Her first night in town she lands smack damn in the middle of a murder. Small towns have secrets and who can you trust.
