This book tells of his time locked up with no hope of release, living the brutality of the tough and unforgiving American penitentiary system and finding his new purpose in life.

I appreciate someone who can face an injustice at every turn and still attempt to be a decent person. The American government and criminal justice system should be ashamed at how they acted.

Heartfelt and Somber Memoir

Mr. Kane is a wonderful writer who drags you into the clutches of his world so deeply you forget its not your own. He expresses his past and his struggles in ways I rarely see and relate with personally very deeply. The level of kindness, nuiance and empathy he puts into all of his work and description of himself vs others is so refreshing. I am so grateful to have found this and will be buying a physical copy soon.

Fantastic Story. Great resilience!!

I remember learning about Jamie through youtube. I actually sent him and email a while ago when I was down. His reply lifted me. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why some of the most compassionate and understanding people have always gone through something treacherous. I was throw back listening to this book. What a life. I’m glad your out and about in England my brotha! Your book was amazing! RECON!!

Well written. Inspiring, amazing story of never giving up on humanity and choosing to live with empathy instead of anger.

Great book

The story about the officers telling you that you can only talk to the guy next to you had me laughing hysterically. I work for the federal system and this made my day.

Had me on my toes for 3 days straight. You won’t be disappointed! I wish he had a follow up book.

What a crazy life. I am glad he shared his story and is doing well.

Jamie really did a well job illustrating just how bizarre his life is/was and uniquely his. It’s a life not many could pull off. I imagine I will think about Jamie for the rest of my days.

This is a great read. Finished it in a day. Highly recommended! He could of chosen a different path but refused to fall to others.
