Acerca de esta escucha
Many people are shackled by their own rigidity and perfectionism. They struggle to experience life to the fullest, and to have positive and fulfilling relationships with those around them. They are hung up on feeling annoyed, critical, or judgmental toward others. They get fixated on the negative rather than focusing on the positive. They struggle to tolerate other people and different environments, and so they resort to repetitive and comforting behaviors in order to soothe themselves in the face of stress.
This book was written for those with OCPD (obsessive–compulsive personality disorder) as well as the loved ones of those with OCPD. We will explain what OCPD is and discuss its causes. We will then go into the various ways that a person with OCPD can seek to be more open, less rigid and perfectionistic, and experience less overall frustration with life. It is often useful for people with OCPD to have the assistance of a person without OCPD while they work through their rigidity.

Historia
One of the main causes of OCPD or negative perfectionism is an internal lack of self-confidence. A child with OCPD parents was often told exactly what to do and what not to do. There was never any room for the child to make a mistake and learn from it, nor was there any room to test out new skills or try new things in a no-pressure situation. Due to this, you were not often given the ability to do things that would build up your own self-confidence.

Historia
OCPD is the abbreviation for a group of mental symptoms that are collectively called obsessive compulsive personality disorder. Many people confuse OCPD with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). People can have both; however, OCPD is a pervasive condition that affects the person's entire life and all interactions. A person with OCPD may justify their rigidity and inflexibility using the morals and values their family instilled in them.

Many of my readers and listeners email me. They may be in relationships with people who are diagnosed with OCPD, or they have been diagnosed with OCPD themselves. Some of them have parents, siblings, children, or friends with OCPD. Many people who know someone with OCPD want to know how to help the OCPD sufferer from doing some of his or her repetitive or negative behaviors. They may be bothered by the OCPD person's behaviors, or they want to help the OCPD person to live a more fulfilling life overall.

There are many things that occur during a child or adolescent's life that may lead to OCPD and perfectionistic behavior that paralyzes a person's ability to adapt to change and social circumstances. This audiobook covers the different causes, as well as covering the things that may be improved on in an OCPDer's life to encourage resiliency, self-confident, and the ability to relinquish some of the control that they need over others in order to survive.

Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.
