About this listen

Governments around the world cling to power, subjecting their citizens to more and more abuses.
The people are no longer satisfied by patriotism or duped by propaganda.
They demand freedom - by any means necessary.

Derek struggles to survive the most brutal military prison in the United States. He is interrogated and tortured by the CIA. Will he reveal the location of 1776 and his family?

Summer is left to care for her two small children and to repay the debt owed to 1776. She and her father participate in acts of domestic terror as enemies of the state and obligatory members of 1776. Will they repay their debt and rescue Derek from a maximum-security prison before it’s too late?

After narrowly escaping arrest by the FBI, Jacob Roth leaves his wife and returns home to Switzerland, with his son and his AI girlfriend in tow. Jacob struggles to satisfy his overbearing father and boss. His only joy comes from his relationship with his AI girlfriend, but his parents are adamantly opposed to the unnatural relationship. Jacob’s demanding job and new love leave little time for his troubled son. The lack of supervision leads to devastating consequences. Will Jacob finally find happiness and meaning, or will he succumb to resentment?

President Naomi Sutton and the Democratic Socialists control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. She uses that power to pass sweeping legislation, making good on her campaign promises. But the new reforms have unintended consequences, giving new life to her enemies. Will she survive long enough to see her promise of the socialist utopia?

The world is teetering on the brink, between freedom and totalitarianism. It’s now or never.

Collapse into 2050 and Hang On

Was grateful the release of 2050 Book 5 coincided with my completion of Book 4 as I would have gone nuts waiting to see what was next for the characters. The ending was so good I rewinded several chapters and listened to the ending again. I think I listened twice as after 5 books the characters were a part of my everyday. While the epilogue was a great send-off it had me wishing for a 6th book to keep the story alive.

Justified Ends?

Book 5 wrapped up the series in an interesting and satisfying way. The whole book was a wild and twisty thrill ride, but some of the scenes depicted in this book were very visceral and hard to listen to, through the audiobook. I found the book to be thought-provoking as the author shined a light on matters that are of concern in the real world. Tristan Wright's and Sarah Grace Wright's dual narrations were engaging and held my attention until the end. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Pretty Epic

Wonderful imagining of future possibilities, the bots, crypto currency, inflation, and free cities. I like how you touched on our near future from hindsight of 2050… Venezuelan war…the famine of 2036… I hope not, but these days who knows. Thanks for putting the thoughts down, I throughly enjoyed this.

Karma has its own way of being satisfied.

As prescient as Phil M Williams has appeared through the first four books of this series, after listening to Collapse I’m really hoping this one isn’t a portent of the future – near or distant. Along with all the action and intrigue I have come to expect from this series several things occur that provide some measure of comeuppance to some very deserving characters. Who and what – well you will need to read or listen to this book. I will say in all but one instance I never saw these things coming. Collapse does an excellent job tying up this series. Once again Tristan and Sarah Grace Wright’s excellent narration brings this final episode of the series to life. I received a review copy of the audiobook from the author and chose to provide this review.

I want it to keep going!

Last book of the series and I’m wishing there were more. It feels like I know the characters so well, they’re actually part of my life!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and found it difficult to put down. The narrators did an awesome job of portraying each character consistently throughout the series.

Phil M. Williams is definitely an author to follow. His books all run in the same vein with similar themes but very different storylines.

I highly recommend this audiobook series, “2050” as well as all other titles by this author.

I did receive this series in audiobooks at no cost, but had previously purchased and read all five books. This is one series I will read again and again.

Listened to all 5 books

the overall story is sooo good, it really distracts from the right leaning anti socialism political rhetoric
