鈴木三重吉は日本の児童文化運動の父として知られています。
子供の感性を育むためには、本当に良い作品を届けなければならないという哲学のもとで、童話と童謡の雑誌「赤い鳥」を創刊しました。 このオーディオブックは、鈴木三重吉がお子様に対して真剣に一人の人間として向き合ったものです。
「日本を」(長編歴史童話)
江戸時代に鎖国を行い、交わりを絶ってきた日本。アメリカは日本と自由な交際がしたいと願っていました。
日本のことを一番熱心に研究していたのは代将官のペリーでした。
ペリーは、日本がなぜ外国人を拒んでいるか、理由を知りたいと思いました。
結果、色々な国が自国の利益だけで日本に接して悪い印象を与えていたことに気付きました。我々は礼儀と温情をもって接近し、悪意が無いことを了解させればきっと大丈夫だと信じたのです。
そして1852年、ペリーは日本に向かって出発します……
「お嫁くらべ」
お百姓のうちにはきれいな娘が三人いました。
中でも一番上の姉のクリスティナは器量も一番よく賢かったのですが、怒りっぽいたちで、人の言うことは聞かないわ二人の妹や召使はいじめるわという始末です。
ある時、クリスティナをお嫁にもらいたい人が村に来ました。お百姓がクリスティナの悪いところを話すと、彼は結局二番目のマーガレットをお嫁にもらっていきました。
同様にして、末の妹のもガータもお嫁にもらわれて行きクリスティナ一人が残りました。
クリスティナはへそを曲げより一層家中の皆にひどく当たりました。
クリスティナも自分一人が家に残るのが嫌で結婚が決まったのですが、どうもこのお婿さんは一癖も二癖もある人のようで……
