Записки из подполья — произведение классика русской литературы и одного из лучших романистов мирового уровня Ф. М. Достоевского (1821–1881). Повесть построена на контрастах. Кроме того, автор описывает не конкретного героя, а некий тип людей — собирательный образ. Повесть написана так необычно, что читатели не сразу поняли ее и отождествляли идеологию «подпольного» человека (замкнутого, озлобленного, порвавшего связь с внешним миром) с мировоззрением писателя. Достоевский знаменит и такими своими произведениями как Подросток, Двойник, Дядюшкин сон, Записки из Мертвого дома, Чужая жена и муж под кроватью, Великий инквизитор, Записки из подполья, Сон смешного человека, Дневник писателя, Слабое сердце. Значение творчества Достоевского для мировой литературы и философии сложно переоценить. Его без преувеличения можно назвать самым известным и читаемым российским писателем, который получил известность не только благодаря художественным достоинствам своей прозы, но и благодаря их философскому, нравственному наполнению.
