I have enjoyed this book for many years and even got to meet the author at a book signing at my job in Atlanta. It is filled with good stories, delicious recipes, and helpful advice.

The narrator was perfect with the Yorkshire accent, the stubbornness of Mary, and orneriness of Collin. And the story itself is enchanting and of course, you can't help but love Dickens.

this was one of my favorites fairy tales to listen to as a little girl. we had a record recording with a beautifully illustrated jacket. it was lovely to just sit and listen to it again, rediscovering these lovably ordinary characters.

It's nice to hear it directly from the author. Kind of like when you hear her voice on the workout videos telling you to push harder or "you can do anything for 60 seconds!" Easy and fun to read.

I enjoyed listening to the words spoken in the original accent they were intended and in many cases the language too. I liked the candor yet awe of balanced reverence given to the subject. I found it a pleasant thing to listen to, and a thought provoking way to look at this iconic figure.
