Story
Jason and his companions managed to forestall the inexorable undead, but their battle is far from done. Both they and their enemies are scattered across a strange realm, one that someone must conquer if anyone is to get out alive. Territory by territory, factions fight to reunite their people and conquer the realm. Jason must contend with alliances he doesn’t want, friends he cannot find, and enemies ranging from angelic despots to the power of an undead god. He must face a realm that has been warped by his own mind and find a way to save a friend whose sacrifice got them this far.

Loved every minute of this book. Jason's character arc really goes full circle, but this time with the entire cosmos on the line.

Story
Gabe Skelter has a temper, which he likes to imagine has the effect of causing people to fear and respect him. On the contrary, his pudgy, underdeveloped body and negative personality make him more your standard outcast teenager. Worse still, he kinda knows what a jerkweed he actually is. Then, in the middle of a class trip, Gabe finds himself spirited away to Regaia: a world of magic, mayhem, and nerd-tastic adventure. Naturally, he’s completely ill-prepared. But in this realm, he’s a monstrous, muscular man of action.

Surprisingly good for a random book choice!

The narrator for this book is phenomenal at creating character voices and reflecting their emotions in said voice. Book is certainly written for a younger audience, but the main character is far too relatable if you've ever been a teenage edgelord. (I am guilty of this) 10/10 would listen to again.

Story
Nathaniel didn't want to believe the rumors about Castle Drachenstein and the strange experiments taking place where his new home was to be. But when a shockwave of dark energy erupts from the research facility, and the dead villagers start turning into monsters, he can do nothing but agree that he's now in a literal hell! If he wants to stay alive, he will have to make good use of the Tiler he's been provided. Contrary to the other units he's been a part of, soldiers around here have a peculiar device on their wrist which can grant them powers.

Doom, but not interesting
Reviewed: 08-01-23
This is the first book I wasn't able to finish on Audible. Not compelling enough in my opinion and the main character just falls flat. Not the narrators fault however, the writing just doesn't seem up to par to make the world truly seem like the hellish reality it has be coming.

This entire series is amazing.

I hate reading, but this series made me enjoy audiobooks more than most video games, which is crazy. Jason is an amazingly well written character, that I think many people can relate to with plenty of emotional depth and I can't wait to get book 6!

Story
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.
