Rollercoaster of a story
Reviewed: 11-04-24
This book fits the headline I gave it. When the story moves well, the listening audience will thoroughly enjoy it. Unfortunately, this story has some moments that some people might consider dull. However, if the listener is willing to put that notion aside I believe that the listener won’t go wrong with purchasing this story.

While listening to Evanna Lynch's narration of this book is a treat, I don't think it's enough to warrant purchasing the story. I will keep it for nostalgia's sake, but I can't recommend that the listening audience buy this book.

One aspect that the listener will appreciate about this book is its realistic feel, although it is a fantasy novel. I enjoyed how the characters have grown, and I think the listening audience will see that aspect of the story most of all. Lastly, this series is worth the credit. So, please don’t hesitate to purchase this story.

The main question regarding this book in the series is, "What would you do for someone you care about?" I believe the answer is personal to the listener. Whatever the explanation, this book takes the audience on that journey, which is well worth the credit.

Story
So it turns out overthrowing a 14,000-year-old cultivation empire is going to take longer than I expected, but I've made a great start. I've broken through to the Core Realm of my hidden Berserker art, established a new Terran Sect, and even discovered a tribe of lost Terrans out in the wild. There's a whole lot more at stake and even more people to save, but that's all the more reason to free the Earth from the empire's control. Not everyone is thrilled about my progression, however.

One aspect of this story I appreciate is how passionately it is told. Even though this story is more of a solo-driven book, its other characters shine, something that the listening audience will significantly benefit from as they listen to this story. I hope people will take the time to listen to this series because it is a journey that is genuinely worth the credit.

Xavier Collins was sitting in class when the System integrated Earth into the Greater Universe, where countless vast kingdoms, empires, and collectives battle for domination. He didn't know what choosing to be a Champion would entail. He just liked the sound of it. But when he's teleported to the aptly-named Tower of Champions, he must face challenges against those who have known about the System since birth.

Poorly Written
Reviewed: 08-05-24
I don’t know what this book is trying to be. Is it a solo adventure or an ensemble cast gathered to perform a task? This story has a main character and many others who feel more like props. If you’re to make a solo-driven story, that’s fine. You can do that, but don’t give the audience other characters to invest in and make them feel like props standing around doing nothing. I vehemently suggest that the listening audience not purchase this story, and I wish I could give it back because it isn’t worth the time and effort to listen to it.

Story
Salvatore's worst nightmare is taking on a demon, but if he wants to stay at Quest Academy, how will he prove to himself and everyone else that he can succeed? He's going to have to take on an entire floor of a demonic tower before the first semester comes to a close. That's the least of Sal's problems as he navigates through his first student mission away from the school. Sal is more comfortable at the crafting table, but he needs to survive in a reclaimed zone outside of the academy with the worst team of misfits you could possibly imagine.

I enjoyed the first book of this series a great deal. However, this book was a disappointment for me. I didn’t find the main character as intriguing as portrayed in the first story. Also, to be blunt, I found this book rather dull. Sadly, I cannot recommend the story, but I hope the next book will change my mind regarding the book.
