For me it took several chapters to catch my attention. But once caught I was very enthralled with the story, the characters and the narrator. I would certainly recommend this book series and strongly encourage you to stick with it at least through the first few chapters.

Engaging story telling to the last second

I’ve been waiting MONTHS for this second installment to be released and was NOT at all disappointed. I found the story just a tad bit slow in starting but not disappointing.
Oh the last 5-10 minutes was worth the whole listen and leaves me yearning for Morgan’s story to continue!

The location, the story it’s self and the narrator

Having visited Savannah Georgia several times while working Hilton Head SC it was really cool knowi my the locations described in the story. Lol I doubt it but it almost seemed like I recall seeing or briefly meeting some of the characters in the story. I highly recommend this book beit audio book or actual paper. The story is interesting and well told. I’ll be looking for other works by this author

A book series to rival works like LoTR and wheel of time

So sad that this series has come to an end. A wonderful end but end all the same. To often a good series has such a weak or disappointing end. THIS is not one of those series. Captivating and interesting story and characters.
I’m a hardcore Tolkin and LoTR ring purest and can do to compare this series and story Tony all time favorite says something.
I will be listening to this again in the future.

Ok I admit the start of this chapter in Thorns story was a little difficult to get into BUT I was soon grabbed and my attention enthralled.
I eagerly wait for the next book.

Glad that I kept reading (or rather listening)

Starting this book I was going to abandon it but continued through and after getting through the first several chapters found myself eager to discover what’s to come in the next chapters.
Book 2 where we meet the Rivertons was good but in my opinion moved a bit fast. I feel the development of Rivertons life and existence in their new environment could have unfurled slower and in more detail.
Overall I really enjoyed the story and will look forward the next 2 books.

A great adventure with subtle moral lesson

While this genre may not be for everyone there are life lessons that can be found.
I feel this series is well written with wonderful details and an entertaining and gripping performance by the reader.
I have also enjoyed the story and writing style as a novice gamer and sure the other gamers of all levels would enjoy the detail Seth has gone to in developing the story around a fictional game.
As bit of a penny pincher I do not use my credits lightly and usually look for titles that are included in my subscription but I will continue to spend my Audible credits on this series until complete

Slow start great finish

Stick with it, it’s a little bit of a slow start but the story becomes engaging. I became invested in the characters and their story enough that I will be buying the other books in the series.

Well worth the 1 credit and more

I am so very glad I did not heed the few bad reviews that were posted.
First the narration was wonderful and diverse. Each character was read and voiced in a way that created their own personality and depth. I couldn’t see or understand why fellow readers did not enjoy the narration but to each their I guess.
Now for the story itself. 90+hrs of captivating story telling. I found myself involved and invested in each character and developed favorites along the way. Ok there were times I felt like scolding a character insisting they stop whining and to suck it up and get on with what they had to do.
In short, I will actually look for other books narrated by the same talented narrator in this saga. And I look forward to finding other books by this author.
