This is an outrageously complex story, and Richard Poe did a great job narrating. An epic American tale. Violent and heartbreaking, but so is the world.

I have listened to this book 3x, and I’m looking forward to the fourth round. Robin is a gifted storyteller with a beautiful soothing voice. Her words are profound and accessible. This book is a treasure, and I hope everyone listens to it. I love listening to it before bed.

Clarissa’s story-telling and her lens of interpretation are medicine for my tender heart. Especially resonant for an adult child of a dysfunctional family.

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés has a way with words and her stories, especially told in her voice, put my soul at ease. I am so grateful to have access to these amazing sessions.

Although I didn’t quite know what to expect, this book exceeded my expectations. As a 33 year-old woman without children, the timing couldn’t have been better. It’s such a loaded question when people ask me if I want to have children and I often feel totally confused about how to answer. Grateful for Sheila putting this story out into the world.
