A lot of very descriptive violence

I had to return this after 3 hours in. I read reviews calling this fun, thrilling, and a delight. Given the subject matter, I expected it to be violent but unfortunately for me it was just way too much, Please know that this may still be an excellent book, it just wasn't for me. There are very vivid descriptions of violence, particulary of men hurting women and I wasn't getting any enjoyment from it so I decided to stop listening and return it. Your milage may vary, of course.
