Story
For four millennia, the sixteen planets of the Imperium sector have served as a bastion of peace against the Chaosic Regions. The Imperium's legacy can be attributed to the formidable military power of the Stratus, the enforcers of the Supreme and the Senate. However, as is often the case with empires, it is the smallest cracks that threaten to shatter their foundations.

Imperium Descent is a ticket to an amazing ride out of this world!!!

It took no time at all, just a few minutes in to the first chapter and I could easily shut my eyes and see the vibrant world Christopher builds with his impressive performance merged so perfectly with his impactful writing style. You effortlessly start to believe you can hear the sounds of the market and almost taste the sampling of meat offered to the character. I felt my hair raise and muscles tense when the sneaky thief almost failed her stealth check. One thing that has absolutely hooked me is the pure wealth of characters brought to life in this first installment and not a single one felt repetitive or lacking in any way! that is really something special to accomplish. Christopher Hopper has been one of my favorite authors and now in an instant classic has become just as equally revered as vocal performer/narrator! If you like science fiction and space operas book your ticket now with the Imperium Descent universe and never look back. Warning may ruin other series or narrators for you once you start but oh so worth it.

Christopher Hopper has quickly become one of my favorite authors his world building is great and can take you somewhere new any second. One of the best thing I love about his books are the warmth he builds in the relationships between characters and Oblivion Awaits is no exception! He makes you root for your favorites and I can not wait to see where he takes the story next!

Story
Miah Gray is a 27-year-old former army soldier living in rural New Hampshire with his sister, mother, and her boyfriend. He is plagued by PTSD, finding solace, but not redemption, with the aid of prescribed cannabis. All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. When the sun's light is blotted out the following morning and the world is plunged into darkness, Miah finds himself locked down with his family, covering windows with trash bags, lighting candles, and following the arcane rules of an ancient prophecy.
