Not worth the money
Revisado: 05-03-23
The nearly all the characters, including the ML were arrogant and abusive, both physically and verbally towards each other. The ML frequently harassed those loyal and supporting him, even being extremely derogatory to a character that had saved his life moments before. The plot was enough to limp me to the end, but I did not enjoy the book, nor will I continue the series.

Another conquest
Revisado: 03-10-21
I enjoyed the story and the narration, it was a strong continuation of the previous books. However, I absolutely despised the sound effects. They were poorly done, distracting, and didn’t sync with the audio.

Interesting but not exciting
Revisado: 06-03-20
The story idea is good, and the plot is hard to put down, but the main character is overpowered and his lack of struggle takes the thrill out of the novel. Even when he does struggle, the author later follows with a comment like “it was all part of his plan” discrediting the struggle he did go through . I feel like the author repeats the same sentences several times to explain situations. Also, I feel a great amount of time is spent trying to reason why the character isn’t really overpowered (but he is). The world is unique and fun though and despite all, I am contemplating checking out the second book.

Good but I feel like the story needs more editing
Revisado: 03-21-18
The story and its idea are good, but I really felt like it took way to long to introduce the characters and the environment. Six hours into the 13 or so hour audiobook and The reader was still not given the arch of the plot, but a lot of repeated information. The book finally started picking up at about nine hours in, but I felt it left the climax and the conclusion feeling rushed and under detailed compared to the early on description. I did like the story, I really just wish it were better balanced.
The narrator had a good variety of voices, and did great at the beasts, however he portrayed what felt like a condescending or arrogant tone throughout a good portion of the book. I felt this tone would have had a bigger impact if it were less used as it made the book frustrating to listen to. No one likes being spoken to that way, including the listener.

A fantastic book for the intense adventurer
Revisado: 03-29-17
Loved this book, I did not know what to expect when I started it, but it was wonderful. It has a full and complex plot with many intertwining branches. The main character is well developed and evolving, and always getting into and somehow out of trouble.

Good but not great
Revisado: 08-24-16
Not Rick Riordan's best work. I didn't get pulled in and entranced the way i did in Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus Series', I even enjoyed Magnus Chase better. I found the transition of narrators jarring and didn't think either was particularly great. No bad but I probably won't continue the story.
