I’ve read or listened to just about every Danielle Steel book and not one has ever let me down. The twists and turns come out of nowhere sometimes, but always exciting for the characters.

I’ve been reading Danielle Steel for 40+ years. I’ve not once been disappointed by , except the fact that I always want the story to continue to know what happens next. This story is exactly the same situation. I want to know what happens!

Chilling, but not in a super frightening way
Reviewed: 01-16-24
Not the “normal” Robyn Carr novel. Complete opposite, as matter of fact. The narrators voice was absolutely perfect for this novel. The voice for the villain was most chilling. Strongly recommend this book if you like murder mysteries where the majority of the story involves the murderer without realizing that character is the murderer.

I love Robyn Carr’s stories, but this one took me at least 4 or 5 chapters to be able to follow along and get the characters figured out. It ended fantastically but was very slow beginning.

Story
With startling insight, Danielle Steel explores women's choices: between home and adventure, between the love for family and the passion for a cause, between sacrifice and desire. But at the heart of Mirror Image is a fascinating, realistic portrait of identical twins, two vastly different sisters who lead their lives and follow their destinies against a vivid backdrop of a world at war.

I saw some very negative reviews on Goodreads and thought maybe those readers wouldn’t have been as bored or turned off by this book had the listened to it. I never wanted to stop listening. I have family in the general area in MA where this is set. I tried to picture what it looked like 350 years ago. Wonderful the visuals that were painted in my mind.

The story lines were sometimes hard to follow. The narrator never changed his voice to indicate a different person was speaking. I did think changing how his voice was presented during a telephone conversation was interesting and showed better it was a telephone conversation.

Story
Set against a backdrop of world-shattering events, Journey is a story about abuse in its subtlest forms. With wisdom and compassion, best selling novelist Danielle Steel reminds you that no one is exempt from the effects of this devastating disease, which crosses social borders and has no respect for money, power, or success. But at its core, Journey is about hope, about change, and about daring to be free.

Story
India Taylor lived in a world of manicured lawns and neatly maintained calendars: a merry-go-round of Little League, piano lessons, and Cape Cod summer vacations. With four wonderful children, India believed in commitment and sacrifice, just as she believed in Doug, the man she married 17 years before. For India, this was the promise she made, the life she had chosen - not the award-winning career as a photojournalist she once had. It was a choice she had never truly regretted. Until she begins to regret it with all her heart.

I so love Danielle Steel novels, but this one grabbed my heart and held on. I was so happy when India finally stood up to Doug, and started to live her work life, albeit in a very small way. Then found Paul and began as a friend but realized her true feelings and what she thought he felt too. He told her he did, but was living in the past. He finally woke up and wanted to live in the here and now and made the decision he should have made MONTHS before. What a confirming story of a true love blossoming and finally being fulfilled.
