Author Mike Madden has become one of the distinguished authors, that has hit a home run and brought Jack jr. into a bigger than life
Story.
Excitement abounds in this story of an endless struggle between eastern block and American for dominance and control thrown in religious zealots and you get nonstop power grabs.
In this story Jack is once again on the trail of love, and he continues to make some dismal choices that come close to ending both his life and any future romantic affairs.
Lots of mystery, close calls, and intense moments.
I listened to this gem non stopped, truly enjoyed this one...well worth the credit...

Story
Wyoming's new governor isn't sure what to make of Joe Pickett, but he has a job for him that is extremely delicate. A prominent female British executive never came home from the high-end guest ranch she was visiting, and the British Embassy is pressing hard. Pickett knows that happens sometimes - these ranches are stocked with handsome young cowboys, and "ranch romances" aren't uncommon. But no sign of her months after she vanished? That suggests something else.

First off Ron Butler does a great job telling this story...straight forward no phony accents and everything fits well.
Many of us can relate to this story about a young mans first job after graduating college, and not really knowing what the next step in life should be. It doesn't take long for the action to start.
Our hero Robert Delaney is hired by a startup company...and for that he is happy, but like in any job he is surrounded by some he really likes and others well you know.
As time passes Robert finds many problems, solves some and other problems are beyond his talents, so he begins pointing out shortcomings in the company systems, he applies some solutions and suddenly he finds himself at the core of the company security shortcomings.
Threats of deaths, murder, corporate theft, Russian mafia, there of intellectual property, and corporate greed are all otivators in this book...
I know I really enjoyed it, and I am thinking I am glad I spent the credit....I'll be looking for the next book by Matt Mc Cormick

Some friends are just dangerous to be around
Reviewed: 03-27-18
First off I would like to say Mark Ginsburg is outstanding, he is able to bring the characters to life and puts all their little quirks on display.
This is an action book start to finish. The major characters in this book are college students interning in the White House for a year. I am not sure they would ever have the latitude to get into all the situations, but hey that's why this if fiction. There are good cops, bad cops, gangsters, traitors, and it is all mixed up into a great tale about the JFK and RFK assignations, Cuban missile crises. Bay of Pigs, and Russian implements of war in the 1960s .
This book is for sure fast pased, fun, some humor, and typical young people getting over their heads

Story
The Anahuac of 1972 is more than just an isolated outpost on Texas's Trinity Bay. It's a place where greed and justice uncomfortably intermingle; where the evangelical fervor of charismatic preachers resonates; where blacks and whites navigate a fragile co-existence; and where a murder leads to even darker mysteries than murder. Jim Ward, introduced in Morgan's Point as a young, idealistic Houston prosecutor, returns in Anahuac as an older, more conflicted, more complicated man, coming to defend a man who appears guilty of a horrible crime.

A trip down memory lane
Reviewed: 03-27-18
I spent my last six years of public school in La Porte, Texas, and this book was just like returning for a homecoming celebration. Loaded with local color from Laporte, Morgans Point, Baytown, and I cannot count the times I drove through San Jacinto battle grounds, by the Battleship Texas onto the Lynchburg Ferry....so many memories came rushing back while I listened to this book.
Alan Adelberg did a great narrative all the way through this book, he has a really calm, laid back, homespun story telling style that I found to be very comforting.
The story is somewhat typical of a lot of small rural texas towns from the 60's thru today, don't trust outsiders, and if they have different values or mannerisms then you really don't trust then, but local rednecks are able to sit on the fence and lean into dirty dealing but that's okay because they are charter members in the good ole boy system.
But the times they are a changing.
This book is a sort of texas heratige, history, courtroom drama, and with a little religion thrown for good measure. Oh almost forgot our hero is married, has a very good looking law partner, and an ex college lover, and is constantly trying to please them all.
I really enjoyed this one ....hope you like it as well.

Reviewed: 03-05-18
Let me start by saying Like Daniels has turned in a stellar performance. He has a real knack for breathing life into the characters in this story be it men or women.
Mario Kloos has done a masterful job of writing a great space cowboy tale that reminds me of either John Wayne, or Clint Eastwood type characters. There is plenty of toung in cheek humor, threats, and point blank gunfire. Did I mention nukes? Yea they are in the story also.
Basically there is a group of really bad villains that are crushing humanity, and these alien beings seem to be immune to everything the human race throws at them, and now these aliens are beginning to populate earth and other human outpost in the universe .
The complication to the chain of events is that a group of human traitors deserted the human colonies , stole rations, and key transports, fighter aircraft. Ammo, fuel, and food supplies and went into hiding on the moon.
This story is well worth the credit and the time to listen.
I am sure the next book will be all out war on Mars, so the human captives can be freed from the aliens.

I thought book one was really good it had lots of intrigue, figurative and literal back stabbing, steamy sex, and deciption. When I finished it I was ready for book twe, but for me it was a little bit of a let down, but then came The Kremlin's Candidate and all Hell breaks loose, power plays, murder, smashing of dreams and major players are eliminated sometimes it's very messy and other times these people seemingly just vanish.
Then the final twist was some what a surprise...I thought the author might let one agent live but exist in torment and be eternally separated from the love of his life.

For decades, American administrations have forced our military to be neutered in many respects - hampered by restrained rules of engagement, passed in strength by Russia and China, and tested by rogue nations like North Korea and Iran. As a result, nuclear Armageddon hangs over us like a mighty sword. Military analysts agree that the United States can't start World War III. Why? We might lose. Sabers are rattling, and the war of words escalate between America and her enemies....

Fresh off his first mission back with the CIA, Court Gentry secures what seems like a cut-and-dried contract job: A group of expats in Paris hires him to kidnap the mistress of Syrian dictator Ahmed Azzam to get intel that could destabilize Azzam's regime. Court delivers Bianca Medina to the rebels, but his job doesn't end there. She soon reveals that she has given birth to a son, the only heir to Azzam's rule - and a potent threat to the Syrian president's powerful wife. Now, to get Bianca's cooperation, Court must bring her son out of Syria alive.

The Grey Man is a modern day super hero
Reviewed: 02-23-18
I rarely listen to a book that the narrator takes on the persona of the main character. The writer, narrator combination for this series is something many other writers should seek out.
Mark Greaney begins this book, with our hero Gentry Court, finally reaching the end of his mortal being, and quickly switches to the background that brings the Grey Man to the end of the line. Assuming that you enjoy soldiers of fortune stories with a lot of deception, out and out sadistic behavior, mix these with lots of blood and gore. The characters are great. Lots of enhancement so
We can either identify with some of them or only hope others meet up with a messy ending.
Gentry is not a super hero that walks through a conflict with out injury, he receives many bumps and nicks throughout the story.
The cast of characters all come together for a great middle eastern - European power struggle,,,there is kidnapping, out and out murder, lots of bullets, explosions, and manipulation.
This to me is the most exciting Grey Man adventure to date, again Jay Synder takes on the character and is the Grey Man
