Very interesting stuff

A very interesting reading for those curious and open minded enough. I would read this as a view to supernatural/mystic phenomenan more as a single-handed truth. Loved the structure of the book and universal message of love within the lines.

Story
A fascinating guide to the monsters that are part of our collective psyche, from the host of the hit podcast Lore. They live in shadows - deep in the forest, late in the night, in the dark recesses of our mind. They're spoken of in stories and superstitions, relics of an unenlightened age, old wives' tales, passed down through generations. And yet, no matter how wary and jaded we have become, as individuals or as a society, a part of us remains vulnerable to them.

I love Aron Mahnke's voice and dry jokes. This book is a fascinating peek into a mythology and folklore of our favourite characters and creatures: vampires, zombies, Jersey Devil and many others. Even if you are familiar with the amazon tv series or Lore podcast, you'll propably find something new :)

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Awesome, funny and touching

Neil Gaiman reads and tells the mythological and epic stories of the old Viking gods very well, respecting the original lore but still bringing in his awesome dark sense of humor.

Loved the book. Characters were well written and the plot kept surprising me allover. Original idea still respecting old folklore and history. The narrator was good and brought story alive.
