Story
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

A needed perspective on the story
Reviewed: 12-24-22
I loved hearing the story from Edward’s view. Not only that but you get to hear what everyone else is thinking. Edward never tells you exactly what the others are thinking so to hear it in his head answers a lot of questions. It clarifies Rosalie’s actions and helps make more sense.
I would enjoy hearing the rest of them through Edward.

Story
Ever wondered what Bones was thinking and feeling, when he and half-vampire Cat Crawfield first met? Or how their story might differ if he were the one telling it? Now, relive the beginning of Cat and Bones' best-selling love story through Bones' point of view, which reveals a darker, sexier take on their early days, as well as a deeper dive into Bones' past, the vampire world, and other things that Cat didn't see, when their story was told only through her eyes in Halfway to the Grave. Cat had her say. Now, it's Bones' turn.

I love Cat and Bones, but this story is truly Cats story. Telling Bones side leaves out a ton of the actual story. Not to mention I’m so used to hearing Bones accent in the other narrators voice that this one just fell flat. I have it 3 stars only because I love Cat and Bones.

Story
America's favorite bounty hunter is back behind the wheel in her fifth hilarious, high-octane thriller. Out of bail skippers and rent money, Stephanie Plum strikes out on her own. Okay, so a scumball blows himself to bits on her first day of policing a crack house, and the sheik she was chauffeuring steals the limo. But hey, nobody's perfect.

I love this storyline but the narration is terrible. She talks too fast, without any change in voice for characters making it hard to follow along.
Thank God for the lady that said the unabridged version of this book is out on YouTube for free. I was prepared to skip this one but wanted to hear the story progression but couldn’t handle the narration.
I’m listening to the unabridged version now on YouTube.

Story
Vampires Cat Crawford and her husband Bones's romantic vacation is interrupted when they're enlisted to guard a spoiled heiress with both human and undead hitmen on her tail. Things quickly go from bad to worse when details of their assignment make their way through the supernatural grapevine, and what started as a simple bodyguard job ends up being a fight for survival that neither Cat nor Bones saw coming.

I love this series and the characters. It’s lacking without Tavia Gilbert to narrate though. Tavia does such a good job with the characters, especially Bones, that without those established voices it takes away from the performance.

Story
So far, Kathie Williams has made a good showing as the only American at a mystery writers' conference in Manchester - what with that falling asleep in public thing behind her. The sight of Iain MacLaren wakes her up. Clad in a deliciously woolly sweater, the burly Scotsman seems to be holding up a wall at the cocktail party. So Kathie makes her move . . . and winds up stark naked with him in bed, where his thick Scottish brogue, thick manly chest, and thick...other parts...drive her to do things she's never done before. Like fall in love.

Didn't want it to end

What made the experience of listening to Men in Kilts the most enjoyable?
You have two people that fall head over heels for each other at first sight. An american mystery writer and a Scottish sheep farmer.Even though it is only written from the female leads perspective so you don't get to hear what he is thinking you can see it in his actions.
Who doesn't love a good Highland romance.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved watching the relationship grow between the two. I didn't want the book to end. I could have listened to more of the daily lives of this couple. There was never a dull moment that was for sure.
What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?
I think she did a good job with the accents and the characters. She was easy to listen to and the story flowed so smoothly it was almost like watching it unfold. I didn't have any trouble knowing who was talking.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did laugh out loud a few times and even rolled my eyes some. I didn't cry but there was drama there. Nothing was really a surprise and I could tell what was going to happen but I really didn't want it to end where it did.

Lizzy and Diesel are back in a wicked adventure from Janet Evanovich and Emmy Award–winning co-author Phoef Sutton. A vast collection of gold and silver coins and precious gems, the bounty also contains the Stone of Avarice—the very item reluctant treasure seeker Lizzy Tucker and her partner, Diesel, have been enlisted to find.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. I love the Stephanie Plumb series and Diesel is one of my favorite characters so I picked this one up. It's just weird to have him interact with the exact same character as Stephanie only the name is different.
Not to mention there is just way too much that is too far out in left field. I couldn't find anything tangible in the story I could grab onto. It's just a little over the top. Like it's trying too hard to be part of the Stephanie Plumb series.

Men in tights never looked so good. At least that's Pepper Marsh's first impression when she attends a jousting competition at the Rennaissance Faire in Ontario. An unemployed and unattached software engineer, Pepper has had enough of the computer geeks in her dating pool. She yearns for a man of yore. A man not afraid to stare death in the face... and laugh at it. A man with a big lance....

I like an Alpha male paired with a strong, smart, and sarcastic female. Can't help but laugh at some of the one liners.

I love Katie Mcalister and this book did not disappoint. All of her books have a strong female lead paired with a strong Alpha male. I didn't guess the villain in this one until late in the story but it was a good read.

Story
They may ride off into the sunset, but cowboys never go out of style. These manly men embody the fiercely independent, earthy alpha male and hero who isn't afraid to show the gentle, nurturing side of his complex nature when faced with a woman in need. Even when he’s coated with dust from riding behind a herd of cattle or up to his knees in mud freeing a calf from a wallow, this stud still generates a lot of Cowboy Heat.

Really wish I hadn't picked this one up. It appears to be a bunch of very small anthologies all run together. They are big enough for explicit sex to happen once and there is more sex than there is story.I only made through the first 3 stories and that was 6 minutes.

Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Epic continuation of Outlander

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Even though it's a little confusing at first, if you loved Outlander you need this book as well. Outlander ended with Claire and Jamie in the hot baths of the Monastery with Claire about to tell Jamie she was pregnant.
This book starts with Claire and her 20 year old daughter on the doorstep of Roger Wakefield in Scotland. Her husband Frank has died and she is about to tell her daughter the truth. She needs Roger to locate what happened to the men of Lallybroch so she can tell the end of the story.
Once she starts the telling, Claire and Jamie are in France and Claire pregnant. They are trying to stop the rising of prince Charles to stop the battle of Culloden. This book takes the story from here all the way to Claire coming through the stones. It ends with even more story left to tell.
This is an epic love story and the author has done an excellent job putting the story together. There is so much in this book and the one before that each could have been 5 or 6 novels on their own. I don't think if they were chopped up they would have had the same effect. The story needs every bit of the storyline as the author has laid it out.
The narrator is perfect. She had the English and Scottish accents from t he first book and then threw the French in this one as well. She does a marvelous job. I never lost track of who was talking. Excellent job on both.
