Story
Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball - or that Prince Charming would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.

Fabulous Listen

This is my second book to complete in this series and I love them. The book drug a little in the beginning but picked up nicely as it went on. I also love the narrator. She is easy to understand and does a fabulous job with different voices. I’m looking forward to starting the next book.

Horrible Narration
Reviewed: 02-16-23
I can't get through the book. Maybe I should read it?? I have friends who have read this book and loved so I thought my kids and I would have fun listening to it in the car. I can’t listen to the narrator though. He does a great job a voicing the characters but I can’t stand the narration. We stopped in chapter 3.

Story
Every day without fail, Travis Devine puts on a cheap suit, grabs his faux-leather briefcase, and boards the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan, where he works as an entry-level analyst at the city’s most prestigious investment firm. In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. In the evenings, he listens to the fiscal news on his phone, already preparing for the next grueling day in the cutthroat realm of finance. Then one morning Devine’s tedious routine is shattered by an anonymous email: She is dead.

Great Author-Not Great Book

Baldacci is fabulous. I love reading his books but I couldn’t get through this book. I found the story lacking. I’ve tried to go back and finish it multiple times but can’t.
