Historia
Miah Gray is a 27-year-old former army soldier living in rural New Hampshire with his sister, mother, and her boyfriend. He is plagued by PTSD, finding solace, but not redemption, with the aid of prescribed cannabis. All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. When the sun's light is blotted out the following morning and the world is plunged into darkness, Miah finds himself locked down with his family, covering windows with trash bags, lighting candles, and following the arcane rules of an ancient prophecy.

A solid listen and good story
Revisado: 01-07-22
This is the third Jeremy Robinson book I've read and the 5th narrated by R.C. Bray and it is top tier. Not once did I know what was going to happen or where the story was going and R.C. Bray's narration made it impossible to stop listening to.

Historia
Aspiring author Ben Simmons hates imposing himself upon others, so when he breaks down in the small Rhode Island town of Kettering, he's forced to grit his teeth and lean on strangers for help. It's not all bad, though. His temporary host could not be more accommodating, and the local librarian quickly takes an interest in Ben, as well as the research for his next novel. Though unexpected, his short stay has the potential to be enjoyable.

good story, decent narrator
Revisado: 12-18-19
The story was good, if not a little predictable, but I like Aaron Mahnke and his Lore podcast so I wanted to give this a shot. it wasn't as deep on the lore and background as I was expecting but the story was serviceable and the dialogue, though stilted and a little flat at times, was ok.
the narrator, though, was just ok throughout. there were times when he would run two sentences together making it hard to follow and other times there would be a slight pause between words when no punctuation was there. though I wasn't thrilled with his performance, it didn't exactly detract from the experience.

Historia
There's a stranger living in Kimber Hannon's house. He tells the police that he has every right to be there, and he has the paperwork to prove it. But Kimber definitely didn't invite this man to move in. He tells her that he knows something about her, and he wants everyone else to know it too. "I was there. I saw what you did." These words reveal a connection to Kimber's distant past, and dark secrets she'd long ago left buried. This trespasser isn't after anything as simple as her money or her charming Craftsman bungalow.

good writing, bad character.
Revisado: 11-16-19
I found it hard to empathize with Kimber and thought her a real terrible person; especially when she was younger. I also wanted her to kill herself as she thinks about at one point in the book. The writing was clear and concise and well-paced and the narrator was really good; she spoke clearly and articulated every word.
so, my problem is with Kimber being a crap person: both as a teenager and as an adult.
