My comfort listen

I don’t know how many times I’ve listen to this book more than 10. I love how the main character is strong has a unique beauty and does things her own way. The supporting characters are funny and fully developed. I like this author, and I love this series. I am currently re-listening to it for the 20th or 30th time.

Story
After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he's still in good health, and in one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.

It was a story about a man and his ability to find friends. The coolest part is although he was ok with blowing things up he had strong morals and values. Enjoyed the book..

Story
Football has come to the ancient city of Ankh-Morpork - not the old-fashioned, grubby pushing and shoving, but the new, fast football with pointy hats for goalposts and balls that go gloing when you drop them. And now, the wizards of Unseen University must win a football match, without using magic, so they're in the mood for trying everything else.

I have listened to this story five times at least. I am always amazed at the adroit way the author highlights the best and worst of human society w/o beating us over the head with it. One of my go to audiobooks
