Historia
As one of the few black students in his philosophy program at Columbia University years ago, Coleman Hughes wondered why his peers seemed more pessimistic about the state of American race relations than his own grandparents–who lived through segregation. The End of Race Politics is the culmination of his years-long search for an answer.

Great Read
Revisado: 11-21-24
I love books like this that squash the race narrative. I’ve spent a lot of my life buying into this race narrative. Now that I’m older a lot of their arguments don’t hold up well especially with people like Mr.Hughes, Thomas Sowell and others that can shatter all of these false narratives.

Historia
You remember the story: some locations did better than others on Covid because some locations followed the rules, and others foolishly ignored them. Covid spread was your fault, you science hater! There is precisely zero evidence behind any aspect of this morality play, which is demolished by this book. Diary of a Psychosis is different from all other books on Covid: it traces the development of the government response as it happened, bit by bit, and subjects it to relentless scrutiny: did any of it do any good?

I love this book, it’s the proper breakdown of the Covid insanity. People like Tom Woods are part of the reason I stayed sane throughout that mess. If you have someone in your life who you need to convince this wasn’t what it seemed then I recommend this book.

Historia
Since early 2020, the world has experienced a series of catastrophic events - a global pandemic caused by a so-called novel coronavirus; international lockdowns and border closings causing widespread business closures, economic collapse, and massive unemployment; and an unprecedented curtailment of civil liberties and freedoms in the name of keeping people safe by locking them up in their homes.

A must read
Revisado: 05-07-21
This has been a very enlightened read and listen. These authors are the people who we need to be listening to when it comes to all of this. These authors recognize the problem and offers legitimate solutions instead of stuff that really solves nothing. If anyone still believes in “the narrative” after reading this, then they are too far gone.

Decent book
Revisado: 09-12-17
This book was pretty decent. I wasn't expecting much from it, but enjoyed it. The only thing is I wish the character of Leandra was redeemable, she's the only character I felt like got away with being horrible without learning a real lesson. Did anyone else get a repeat of the last chapter? I thought it was going to be an alternate ending but it was the same chapter read previously. Shay did a fine job reading. If there are any sequels, I'll read/listen to them.

Loved it
Revisado: 09-03-15
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great continuation, although I predicted from the beginning that one of Sydney's new friends was crooked. I liked that we got a team on Sydney and Mulberry's side. Although, Sydney and Ben's attraction was just a little too quick for my taste. I don't know if I am supposed to be cheering for Mulberry and Sydney to get together, but I am. Overall I would recommend this book and series.

Nice follow up
Revisado: 08-30-15
I enjoyed this follow up to Unleashed. At first I wished it would have been Mulberry who joined Sydney on her adventure, but really liked Merl. I know it was a novella, but it was almost too short. That's ok though, I look forward to the next installments.

Historia
Mackenzie, Ava, Caitlin, Julie, and Parker have done some not-so-perfect things. Even though they all talked about killing rich bully Nolan Hotchkiss, they didn't actually go through with it. It's just a coincidence that Nolan died in exactly the way they planned...right? Except Nolan wasn't the only one they fantasized about killing. When someone else they named dies, the girls wonder if they're being framed. Or are they about to become the killer's next targets?

It a a nice twist
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Good Girls?
The end

She brings out different personalities to the characters
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Things are not all they seem
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed this book. It was very suspenseful and kept me wondering who was doing the murdering until I started putting it together in the end. I loved the twist and hope there could be another book to explore the characters even more.

Kinda boring
Revisado: 08-10-15
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I don't know
Has In Cold Blood turned you off from other books in this genre?
Just books in this series
Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from In Cold Blood?
Some of the ship scenes
Any additional comments?
This story is a combination of Kill Bill and Captain Phillips. I enjoyed both of those movies, but just couldn't get into this book. It was boring to me, and the protagonist Beatrix Rose was someone I was not really rooting for. Instead of spending her final days, weeks or whatever due to cancer with her daughter she chooses to get revenge. On top of that she has to teach her daughter to become an assassin essentially because of her revenge plot. If it was Beatrix alone getting revenge with no one she cared about in the line of fire that would be ok, but she is willingly putting her child in danger. The whole killing of Beatrix's main target in this book was anti-climatic, I was expecting much more considering the build up. Overall, I will not be continuing this series unless it's a free deal.

Decent book
Revisado: 07-14-15
This book was decent, it had a nice storyline. I admit I got a little bored at the end when Cade went to rehab and they were writing letters back and forth. I felt like they could have just fast forwarded three months and had him get out of rehab and propose to her.
