Story
Tragedy flips Amore Brown’s world on its axis right before she heads off to college. Having to sit tight for the summer, she chooses Jersey City, New Jersey - the home of her estranged father - to pass the time. Here, in urban grit, a stark contrast to the comforts of suburbia, she reconnects with a long-lost cousin for some final months of summer excursions, enrooting, and evolving. But it could never be that simple, even if it were all so simple then.

Great Book and Great Narration
Reviewed: 11-10-21
I recently discovered this author and fell in love with this series as well as the spin off. What elevated the series was the brilliant narration by IIKane. She did an amazing job. As I read book 2 on Kindle I now had a voice that I could put to each character. I can't wait for book 2 to be narrated. Great job on this amazing journey of these 4 young women.

I am OBSESSED with Ashton and Tori. One of the best, most heartfelt series I've read/listened. Reading this on Kindle was an experience but the audio book version took this story to another level. I am anxiously awaiting the Audiobook for book 3. I've never cried, laughed, yearned and been more frustrated with characters in my life. Keep doing what you do Ms. Belvin. My hope is some day this story makes it to the big screen. I need more Ashton and Tori

The hardest thing Morgan Atkins has ever done is let go of love. After losing Messiah, she never thought she’d find someone who understood her again. Until she reunited with Ahmeek Harris and their friendship quickly transformed into something deeper, but there was one problem...she was engaged to a man she didn’t love and he’s holding a deadly secret over her head. If that wasn’t enough, her long-lost love Messiah returned to claim her as his own.

I absolutely love this story although I do agree that some of if it is being dragged out. However in the real world these types of decisions are never easy and I'm sure Morgan would struggle. I've never met a set of people who can't communicate like these people. It's time for Morgan to know Messiah had cancer and time for him to know she attempted suicide. I'm absolutely sick and tired of Bash. Ahmeek needs to go live his best life with Livey because none of these people deserve him. Isa is about to get the whole crew in trouble. I suspect we're going to have probably 2 more books but I hope Morgan makes a choice in the next and the final book we can explore a relationship with who she chooses. Messiah is selfish and doesn't deserve Bleu. At this point the only people I'm rooting for is Ahmeek, Alani and Ethic. I'm ready to explore more Bella and Hendrix as well but I see that story might be more struggle love

Story
In the little city of Flint, Michigan, the good die young, and the people left standing are the grimiest of characters. With reign over the city's drug trade, Benjamin Atkins made sure that his precious daughter, Raven, was secluded from the grit that the city had to offer. But when Raven's young heart gets claimed by Mizan, a stick-up kid in search of a come-up, there's nothing Benjamin can do about losing her to the streets.

I read the Ethic series first and then circled back to this. I'm so glad Ethic found Alani. I feel bad for Raven but she is not deserving of Ethic. I don't understand why Morgan behaves the way she does after reading this. What a tortured soul. I've never hated a book character like how I hate Mihzan. I'm going to be in my feelings for a few days after reading this. Great book

I would love to see these characters come to life some day on the big screen because this story is THAT good. Bravo

I loved all the brothers but Shu did it for me. The quiet giant and little Denver's story pulled me in. The art gallery chapter was perfect, I would love to see that played out on the big screen. I also love how ride or die Denver is. My favorite couple of the series. The narrator's voice for Denver was PERFECT and ofcourse Jokobi never disappoints. Wesleigh and Jokobi rocked it.

Renee and Zo for the win
Reviewed: 04-14-21
Rene and Zo's story was beautiful. It was great to see Zo take charge and take care of what needed to be done to get what he wanted. That twist at the end was great too. I also loved the character Rell. l know people didn't like the narration but it was fine to me. I like to see other people get a chance. I read the Romey University series before these books so I got to know more about Rene and Zo and that makes me love them more. Hope to read more about them.
