Story
In A Collective Bargain, longtime labor organizer, environmental activist, and political campaigner Jane McAlevey makes the case that unions are a key institution capable of taking effective action against today’s super-rich corporate class. Since the 1930s, when unions flourished under New Deal protections, corporations have waged a stealthy and ruthless war against the labor movement. And they’ve been winning.

She is well versed as a union organizer but I feel she may ostracize those without the same political leanings as her.

This is a mostly well written book by a person who is an expert in this field. I feel as if she knows that both political parties cater to the rich and actively cut out the working class. She says as much in her book as well, but then she also says that it’s good that democrat politicians are getting elected over republicans. It is my belief that neither party will make real difference in the quality of life for the working class and that while one side might pander to workers more, they stop short of ever making real change and they may loose their seat in office if they do that. It’s up to the working class to come together on the back of the issue of our exploitation and not try to push forward a political argument but a well being for all argument. The division in this country has been used for a long time to make it harder for communities to come together for better treatment. So please if you read this, unionize now, unionize for all the working class, and care for your fellow man, don’t hate them for not thinking like you but talk to them and understand them. If you are able to want a better life for someone on the other side of the political isle than you, then you may make a better life for them, you, and your children.

Story
Georgia’s history is more than just peaches—it’s a story of prisoners, preachers, and presidents who rose above the status quo to help transform a nation. Georgia has been home to many influential figures in US history, including President Jimmy Carter and Martin Luther King Jr. But how much do you really know about the state? Did you know, for instance, that Georgia was the last of the Thirteen Colonies to be created? Or that it was the last state to be admitted into the Union after the Civil War.

I loved the insight I got from this book. I learned things I wasn’t taught in school and now have a better idea of the state of Georgia.

Story
For years, the United States was confident that the newly democratic Russia and increasingly wealthy China could be lured into a Western-led order that promised prosperity and relative peace—so long as they agreed to Washington’s terms. By the time America emerged from the age of terrorism, it was clear that this had been a fantasy.

Good info but has a bit of left leaning skew

Very knowledgeable about foreign affairs and has been a fantastic listen, I feel as if his political views may have made him leave out some things about some things that Obama and Biden did that also allowed for current situations and outs a lot of the problems on trumps platter. Trump is not a good diplomat and that is known but American foreign policy has been mismanaged by both sides and I wished I could hear more about how the republicans helped( even though I’m sure it was very little given their recent isolationist skew) just so I could get the since of the bigger picture. Still it’s a good listen and will help inform you better about current world events.
