The first section was moving, as were they all, but I believe the discussion of the Rabbi’s loss of his son to Polio and his correspondence with Albert Einstein may have resonated the most with me. The notion that when we stop pursuing life based on our perception of separateness from the universe and accept or realize that we are one with the universe, a path to greater understanding of life, even during sorrow, is attainable.

Too many self help gurus or influencers offer ideas for ordering our lives without the experience to prove the rules. Admiral McRaven has led a life filled with life-challenging experiences, successes and failures, and he knows of what he speaks.
