When a bad narrator ruins it all!

I have hundreds of books in my library so I’m usually willing it give narrators a shot. This one was awful. I had to really listen to the beginning of each chapter to know which character was talking. There was no voice separation between Alex and Sam so it could be confusing. The narrator also had this “nail on a chalkboard” whine whenever she was trying to express Sams confusion and self pity. I’m about ready to chuck my phone across the room in annoyance.

Enter Alice’s rabbit hole!

I am still wrapping my head around this book! I listened to this whole book in one snow day and there were times I felt like I had fallen down Alice’s rabbit hole. This book was crazy, fun and blended so much into a gripping story. I went in with an open mind and was greatly entertained. I know some listeners complained about the narrator whispering but she was portraying a scared little girl and a creepy scary creature. The whisper voice made it all the more terrifying. I thought she did an amazing job with this story. I’m looking forward to the second book!
