Story
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

I immediately reread it because it was so much fun!
Reviewed: 12-10-24
I was sure this was going to be ok, but not great. I'm so happy I was wrong. It was so much fun that I immediately began to reread it. The pace is non stop action. The spice is well placed to add to the story. The characters are well developed. I do hate that this is the first book and the next one won't be out for almost a year. It's so much fun rereading it to see the little gems I raced by and didn't notice.

Story
With ailing family to support, Evie Sage's employment status isn't just important, it's vital. So when a mishap with Rennedawn's most infamous Villain results in a job offer—naturally, she says yes. No job is perfect, of course, but even less so when you develop a teeny crush on your terrifying, temperamental, and undeniably hot boss. Don't find evil so attractive, Evie. But just when she's getting used to severed heads suspended from the ceiling and the odd squish of an errant eyeball beneath her heel, Evie suspects this dungeon has a huge rat . . . and not just the literal kind.

Voice actor sounds robotic
Reviewed: 07-16-24
It's a fun little story with a cliffhanger. But it ends right before the culmination of the main story and I felt ripped off rather than entised to listen to the second book. The voice actor is really distracting. She sounds robotic and jolting. The jolting could be editing related.

Story
Lady Claire Trevelyan had been looking forward to glittering balls, congenial society, and relief from pursuit during her stay with Lord and Lady Dunsmuir in the Canadas. Well, perhaps not entirely. Being pursued by a handsome airship captain is rather diverting, especially when it appears her erstwhile employer, Andrew Malvern, is becoming much too distracted by a certain blond mechanic.

Swallow no more
Reviewed: 12-31-13
Would you listen to The Enchanter Heir again? Why?
Yes. The changes to the main plot of this book are so different than that of the first 3 books that I will defiantly re-read it prior to the next book coming out.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The ending had me triple checking to make sure that was the end. I went on every chat I could find to see when the next/last book in the extended series would be available. Anticipation is coursing through me in wait for the next one.
Any additional comments?
The narrator should not swallow so loudly into the microphone, it was very distracting. Editors should take more time to filter out or prevent background noise and lessen gaps between patches. This was an issue with the entire series.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the entire series. I really enjoy that the main character shifts from book to book but they are still relevant in the next books.

What made the experience of listening to The Warrior Heir the most enjoyable?
The characters were very easy to know and care about.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator should not swallow so loudly into the microphone, it was very distracting. I also heard someone in the background say "What?" at a surprising reveal.
Any additional comments?
Editors should take more time to filter out or prevent background noise and lessen gaps between patches.
