A terrific book! The story lingers over description a little more than I would want, but I'm guessing that if I read this myself, I would not feel this way.
I adore the narrator's ability to switch between voices in a way that makes each one distinctive and easy to understand.

Very entertaining and Fiona Shaw did another terrific job reading aloud. My time on the treadmill flies by quickly listening to another riveting story narrated by someone who is a champ at inflection, pauses, and emphasis.

I knew about Jeju because I was watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo, but this book was centered around the island's famous female divers.
I learned a lot more about South Korea's culture and history while enjoying a well-told tale.
The narrator was sterling.

Entertaining but predictable. A tale of thinly veiled caricatures of well-known celebs was done first and better in the 1960's by Jacqueline Susann.

This story has a well-written and interesting, if predictable, tale. The narration was exceptional, very expressive, done at a comfortable pace.

Gripping story of modern day refugees

This was a compelling story of refugees narrated beautifully and thoughtfully. I am thankful to have listened to it. I found the back-and-forth in the timeline a little hard to follow; I imagine it would be easier if I was reading it myself instead of listening to it while I was on the treadmill at the gym.

Harry's recounting of his childhood from the time his mother passed away until present day is a compelling tale. His personal story moves along without becoming excessively self-pitying, and his narration is clear and expressive.

His life decisions have been frequent fodder in the world press. No matter what a reader's opinions are, this book is worth the time.

Entertaining third book in the Thursday Murder Club series. The storyline is not as smooth as in the first two books, but Fiona Shaw delivers a stellar narration.

This is a bleak post-apocalyptic tale of a father and son on the road after some sort of event that has killed almost all life on Earth. I found it deeply depressing, especially in the light of world events lately AND our current climate crisis.
The narration was well done but that's all I can say in its favor. I struggled to get through its six hour listening time.
Wish I hadn't chosen it.

First, whoever was responsible for monitoring the narration was asleep at the wheel. This story takes place in the U.S., where the word "been" is pronounced "bin", NOT "bean"; and the name of the oft-mentioned American fitness guru - who I remember from my younger days - is pronounced "lah-lain", NOT "lah-lann". Sloppy!
As far as the writing, the main character was way too uptight and unsympathetic. The notion that a dog had higher reasoning and comprehension that normal dogs was ridiculous. I had to push myself to finish this book.
