Story
She was the definition of White House style for too brief a time. And as a private citizen, we couldn't seem to get enough of her. Here is the inside, outside, upside and downside of our own American princess. Tragic, heroic, private: the image of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis remains the image of an American icon that will never lose its ability to charm and fascinate.

Truth? FACTS? I’d take the fifth.

I’d take much of this with a grain of salt. So some of what was written I know is inaccurate as it’s direct opposite has been published more than once. One should not write with such “authority” on a subject of which she has no definite insight.

Story
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Beyond expectations!

Was such a wonderful learning experience. My father served in WWII in Europe and said that the citizens of Germany were wonderful people, and the what happened was not their fault at all. On some Friday nights, the tv went off after the evening news and it was family time. He would share a child-appropriate version of his experiences. He was nearly killed in the first wave of the Battle of the Bulge, his buddy beside him was kill. We would watch motion pic reels of the actual events taken as they happened.
What really hit home is how Hitler got into power with less than half the people voting for him. Then he changed the laws, removed civil rights, and did horrible deeds not only to Jews , Polish, Gypsies, and any one deemed undesirable, but to his own race, even if they said a joke at his expense! Execution much? Very eye opening.

Wasted a credit on this book. Was a repeat of his first book. He added an emotionally charged frustration that the injustice for Dorothy K continues at the ending chapters of this book.
As a book club member, I feel a bit cheated.
