Story
Faking an engagement to my secret high school crush was not on my to-do list when I landed for a short visit home. But when Amanda Anderson announces that she’s my fiancée, I take a leap and play along with the farce. Why? Because the Capulets and Montagues have nothing on the Andersons and Silvers of Tinsel, Michigan. In the name of bringing peace to our Christmas-themed hometown and ourselves, we’ll play the part of Romeo and Juliet.

Can this become a movie?
Reviewed: 11-01-24
If Pippa Grant writes it, I'm reading it. If Connor Crais and CJ Bloom are narrating it them I'm DEFINITELY reading it by audiobook! This was a like what happens when modern day Romeo & Juliet end up on Hallmark's 25 Days to Christmas. Only spicier! I'm 100% adding this to my must read again list and I'm 100% hoping this is picked up for a movie.

Even better than I expected
Reviewed: 10-25-24
I love to read on my Kindle the first time then read by audio the second time. I already loved this series and everything this big family was about but the audio version of it? it was FANTASTIC! The narrator lineup for these last two books was spot on. Locke writes these characters you can't help but love from the first word and these audio performances are just the icing on the cake.

Story
The name DiMaggio means mafia royalty, but Calliope, the dynasty’s last living heir, is no princess. A teacher and singer in Nashville, she’s moved as far away from the generations-old criminal legacy as she can. But she still can’t escape her dying father’s wicked reach, or his plans for her arranged marriage to carry on the family name. Playboy Alessandro Costa has a different plan: marry her himself—temporarily. It’ll give him a chance to take down the DiMaggio patriarch and his empire, settle an old debt, and save Calliope from a catastrophic fate.

It sucks you right in
Reviewed: 10-05-24
First of all let me just say that Connor Crais is spot freaking on as Alessandro! This story sucks you right in from the get go and keeps you hooked until the very end. Everytime I thought I had the plot figured out I was dead wrong. Suspense aside, this performance was fantastic! The southern dialect was slightly exaggerated but also as a southerner I can admit some areas of the south can sound like that. You don't have to read Enzo's book to read this one but it's great too so you may as well.

Story
Wolf Wayburn is the devil in an Armani suit with the body of a Greek god. He thinks I’m just a small-town girl who he can intimidate—but I never back down from a fight. The first time we met, he cut me off at a gas station. So, I flashed him the bird and mocked his family jewels. The second time we met, he tried to get me fired. He took his shot—and he missed. At least for now. Wolf Wayburn was an ex-Navy SEAL with an attitude. But it would take a lot more than the big, bad Wolf to scare me off.

I am definitely not a fan of enemies to lovers tropes but not did I LOVE this one! This performance was spot on and just as good in my ears as it was in my head when I read the book the first time.

Jace King is a smoking hot firefighter, a single dad and my new boss. He's also the most beautiful man I've ever laid eyes on. It's totally fine to secretly crush on the guy you Nanny for, right? Did I mention that he's also a decade older than me, works with my dad and he's a close family friend? If you looked up OFF LIMITS in the dictionary, you'd find an eight by ten photo of my sexy boss. But something happens every time we're in a room together. The attraction is almost overpowering.

After twenty years, the cracks in Lauren Reed’s marriage are showing. She and her husband, Jack, feel more like roommates than a loving couple. What they have in common are two wonderful teenagers, Michael and Maddie, and the same wistful question: When did it all go wrong? Now that Lauren’s decided to get on with her life—alone—divorce is inevitable. Not to the kids. They aren’t giving up so easily.

Marriage in the rocks stories are always hard for me to read but this was so well done that I can’t even describe how wonderful it was. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing Lauren and Jack to life! If you love Adriana Locke but are on the fence about this kind of story just jump on in. You may get a little teary eyed but it won’t rip out your heart and you’ll definitely enjoy the ride.

It was lyrics at first sight when I saw Violet Rhodes across that crowded party. She was lights and darks, swirled together. Music in motion. And all of it while looking like a hitwoman at an Elvis convention. I had nothing to offer the intriguing girl but a one-night stand. I figured I’d revel in my last night of anonymity before my first tour and shoot her a quick “we’ll always have LA!” good-bye the next morning. But nothing went according to plan.

I absolutely adore Rowe and her Morgan Brothers/Rivers Records worlds. These are definitely some of my all time favorite series. As much as I’ve enjoyed reading then re-reading/listening to each one I think Dax’s story has by far been my favorite for audio. Being able to have the music supplement the story was a fantastic experience! These narrators knocked these characters out of the park.

If Renn Brewer would’ve asked me to marry him, I would’ve said no. Why? One, his reputation precedes him. His name is in the headlines at least once a month. Two, he’s not just my brother’s best friend. They’re teammates. And three, I’m in my self-care era. Unfortunately, a version of me equates self-care with bad choices.

Eh...I just wasn't feeling this one
Reviewed: 07-15-23
First of all, I think the storyline was there as was the always appreciated witty banter and small town dynamics but honestly it lost me about half way through. There are very few books that I haven't finished and this was one of them. The concept of falling for the "wrong" twin who was the FMC's childhood friend was great. Not to mention the biker gang drama made for a good side story but somewhere along the way I felt like the story was moving too slow and I found myself thinking God I hope I'm almost done with this one. The narration? Well... I'm from the region where this story is set and was excited about reading a good small town southern story. However, within just a few sentences from both narrators I was struck with a sound so painfully Texan that I felt like I was listening to the love child of Hank Hill & the cast from Lone Star State of Mind. Admittedly this was probably a big contributing factor for how I felt about this book. I wanted to like this one more than I did which is why I stuck with it so long but at the end of the day this one just wasn't my cup of tea.
