Historia
People ask me how come I'm still alive, and I don't know what to say. When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f--king way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time. A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil.

Entertaining and honest
Revisado: 02-25-25
You can think anything you want about the life Ozzy has lived but you'll find no more honest account about the highs, lows, gifts and regrets. This is also a very entertaining read. I laughed a lot. He has keen sense of humor.

Historia
If you’re eating a healthy diet and you’re still dealing with fatigue, inflammation, anxiety, recurrent injuries, or chronic pain, the problem could be your spinach, almonds, sweet potatoes, and other trusted plant foods. And your key to vibrant health may be quitting these so-called superfoods. After suffering for decades from chronic health problems, nutrition educator Sally K. Norton, MPH, discovered that the culprits were the chemical toxins called oxalates lurking within her “healthy,” organic plant-heavy diet.

An essential title in the true health library
Revisado: 01-11-23
Two years ago, I joined the carnivore movement. A few months in, I experienced strange problems. Then I heard Sally K. Norton, a guest on the Fundamental Health podcast, say, "If you've been eating carnivore for 6 months and you don't feel amazing, it's oxalates." She was right. That great American plant-based diet had left its mark. With Sally's help, I'm allowing my body to heal through nutrient-dense, low-oxalate foods. This is not a concept that you choose to "believe" or "buy into." Oxalates will eventually get you and when they do, your doctor will call your symptoms "diseases" and prescribe drugs. Read this book before it's too late.

We are in the midst of a global mental health crisis, and mental illnesses are on the rise. But what causes mental illness? And why are mental health problems so hard to treat? Drawing on decades of research, Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Chris Palmer outlines a revolutionary new understanding that for the first time unites our existing knowledge about mental illness within a single framework: mental disorders are metabolic disorders of the brain. Brain Energy will transform the field of mental health, and the lives of countless people around the world.

Historia
In Mitochondria and the Future of Medicine, naturopathic doctor Lee Know tells the epic story of mitochondria - the widely misunderstood and often-overlooked powerhouses of our cells. The legendary saga began over two billion years ago, when one bacterium entered another without being digested, which would evolve to create the first mitochondrion. Since then, for life to exist beyond single-celled bacteria, it's the mitochondria that have been responsible for this life-giving energy.

If you ever thought, like I do, that the body runs on a very simple premise and disease is not innate to the human condition, this book will help you grasp how little it takes for the system to break down but also how simple it is to fix it.

Another great investigative piece of literature
Revisado: 05-03-22
It's so sad what humans are capable of doing to other humans for money. It's ironic that we use the tem "civilization" to describe anything. This book paints the picture of what white men did to native American fortunes and families in the 1900s. It seems that the only birthright that exists is greed. That seems to be the only constant.

Historia
Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?
