Story
Dressed in Victorian attire, Juliana Anderson gives guests at her cozy New England bed and breakfast a taste of old-fashioned hospitality. Whether she’s cooking up delights in her kitchen or maintaining the rooms in her beautifully decorated inn, Juliana stays busy and content. Until Webster Donovan arrives - tall, rugged, and sexy beyond belief. The lean, dark-haired author has a bad case of writer’s block and he’s planned a six-week stay to cure it.

Ms. prim meets Mr. Super aggressive & that's all
Reviewed: 02-04-12
Definitely not like her other books -Mr. Super Aggressive meets the prim Bed & Breakfast owner and immediately decides he has to have her? I mean immediately -no conversation. And of course she doesn't like his kind. A good-looking successful writer who knows how to fix a car. Lots of internal reflection with little conversation while outwardly he pushes for more and she was so over the top obnoxious, I was ready to slap her 20 minutes into the story. A real man with a brain would have cut his losses after their first two semi-conversations. That's the plot. After an hour+, I cut my losses. Get "Infamous" or "Hawken's Heart," "Night Watch," "Get Lucky" or "Frisco's Kid" instead. They have romance, a real plot and lots of real action/adventure and real conversations. Suzanne Brockman can write great books, but this wasn't one of them.

Story
Min Dobbs knows that happily-ever-after is a fairy tale, especially with a man who asked her to dinner to win a bet. Cal Morrisey knows commitment is impossible, especially with a woman as cranky as Min Dobbs. When they say good-bye at the end of their evening, they cut their losses and agree never to see each other again. But Fate has other plans.

My favorite of Jennifer Crusie's!

Min Dobbs is a great character -average-looking woman who will never be model material, but has a quick wit and funny, caring personality (Like most of us!). Through a series of bets, insults and set downs, she turns prince charming inside out and makes him see how wonderful they both are. Funny, witty, quick moving with lots of twists and turns. I've listened to it over and over.
