Story
Charming, charismatic, and effortlessly popular, Conrad Stewart seems to have it all...but in reality, he's scrambling to keep his life from tumbling out of control. Brilliant, guarded, and endlessly driven, Alden Roth may as well be the poster boy for perfection...but even he can't help but feel a little broken inside. When these mortal enemies are stuck together on a cross-country road trip to the biggest fan convention of their lives, their infamous rivalry takes a backseat as an unexpected connection is forged.

Good story, bad reading

Loved the story. Narrator was awful for Alden, though. Sounded like Mort from family guy, who I then pictured for the entire story, which made it hard to enjoy the love story/sexy times. Would’ve been better with a different reader.

Story
Paris Daillencourt is a recipe for disaster. Despite his passion for baking, his cat, and his classics degree, constant self-doubt and second-guessing have left him a curdled, directionless mess. So when his roommate enters him in Bake Expectations, the nation’s favourite baking show, Paris is sure he’ll be the first one sent home. But not only does he win week one’s challenge—he meets fellow contestant Tariq Hassan. Sure, he’s the competition, but he’s also cute and kind, with more confidence than Paris could ever hope to have.

Excruciating to listen to

I had high hopes, since I’d read Boyfriend Material by the same author. But this book was just terrible. I hated it within the first chapter and should’ve turned it off then instead of wasting so much time. The main character is so unlikeable and whiny I spent most of my time rolling my eyes and yelling at what an obnoxious, annoying man-child he is. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities about him and that meant the romance was unbelievable too, as there’s no way any half decent person would put up with his whining. Save your time and money, don’t bother.
