Story
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

A beautiful picture of true compassion!

This was such a moving book. it moved me to tears and it compels me to be more compassionate and loving. It was a beautiful display of how we should treat each other especially in times of hardship and the end of life. Her experiences with the in between have left me with hope and encourages me to look forward to eternity! I love the way she beautifully displays each story with love and compassion. I highly recommend this book!

Anxiety and loneliness are on the rise, with 77% of our population experiencing physical symptoms of stress on a regular basis. We feel pressure chasing careers, security, and keeping up. We worry about health, politics, and many other complexities we can't control. Eventually, we find our minds spinning, trying to cope or manage a low hum of anxiety, unlike ever before.
