Story
Dave Smith is having a bad day, week, month, maybe even year. Freshly unemployed, facing eviction, and now he's been transported to a fantasy world. A wish come true for many a geek, if only he hadn't died less than a day after he arrived. Now trapped in this fantasy realms version of purgatory, he faces the prospect of trying to navigate a new existence as a dungeon. That wouldn't be so bad, except ending dungeons seems to be the path out for many of the other denizens of these Proving Grounds.

Book is an absolute banger, the story takes a bit to kick off but when it does oh boy it's amazing. by a bit to kick off I mostly mean it has some world building to set up. I personally love that part of these type of books, and this one doesn't disappoint. The characters are super believable, and loveable. The action is great. Grab this book and the next, there's this amazing exploit the MC finds that let's hi- *Blink*

It's absolutely amazing, one of the few books that I started and didn't stop until I was through with. I loved the characters, the MC, and the world. I also think the princess in the story is top tier, and I don't know why she just is. The spicy scenes in the book are ghost pepper hot so, be warned. S-class narrator, Sierra Kline is a favorite of mine, and she doesn't disappoint here! My only take away is I want to be listening to the next book and not writing this review... oh wait.

Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Still reading? fine, pay attention then.
I recommend getting "Swing Shift" first if you want to understand a lot of the background happening of this world, so far the book is self-contained but I doubt it will stay that way. This book, however is absolutely FIRE! I loved every second of it. Pacing, story, narrator, action, comedy, side characters. it all comes together in a wonderful package that makes me want to look into the future to get the next one.
If you want to listen to a book that has a really smart and realistic MC, beautiful and smart female leads, (that absolutely steal the show) and a story that connects across other books. Get this one. you won't regret it!

The title of the book should have been "well... that escalated quickly" that's all. if you go in thinking about it like that. well you'll still love or hate it. I'm on the fence about it.

Story
After accepting the fact that he will never know his old reality again, Gunnar looks forward toward building a new life inside Eden's Gate. It's time to form a guild, gather resources, and earn the acceptance of the Edgewood inhabitants. If only things were that easy. The dark elves aren't thrilled about having humans in Edgewood, the mine isn't vacant, and you can't form a guild without at least a few guild mates.
