Story
It has been over a year since the UnArcana Worlds of the Protectorate of the Mage-King of Mars seceded, shattering the unity of the human race. The new Republic of Faith and Reason has raised new banners in defiance of the power of the Protectorate's Mage aristocracy. Now, Hand Damien Montgomery commands a relief mission to a Republic world ravaged by famine. His humanitarian mission collides with a newborn military beginning to flex its muscles - and a newborn nation prepared to accept no violations of its sovereignty, regardless of their needs.

Good story well written but a lot of PC/woke stuff that gets in the way
Reviewed: 07-28-24
Entertaining story, interesting concept, kind of a little bit Star Wars, but all original concerning the plot. Of the book series so far, which I’ve enjoyed I think this one might be my least favorite simply because they’re amp up the woke PC stuff. 98% of commanders, military, and across all theoretic roles are female most are minorities which are described in great detail, and the few that are seemingly not are portrayed as small and weak. Some references to homosexual couples and other stuff that does not seem to really pertain to the story at all just kind of gets in the way of it. This is excluding the main character, however. So if you don’t mind having to roll your eyes a bit at these aspects it’s pretty entertaining. Definitely a pretty cool space epic fantasy novel series though.

Story
With his duty to the Legion satisfied, Wraith sets out to find a lost member of his crew - the young girl Prisma. Not only does the journey bring with it more death and destruction - and loss - than he ever imagined, it revives the shadows of a forgotten past. The only way forward is to follow the footsteps of the legendary Tyrus Rechs. Meanwhile, as the galaxy struggles to steady itself following the fall of a corrupt and bloated republic, dangerous threats vie for power.

Excellent addition in the series

This series from these authors is by far the best space novella I have found on audible. It’s very well thought out and keeps you engaged and wanting to get to the next book as soon as the the one you’re on ends. And a really cool question and answer session with the authors after the story ends on this particular book. They provide some insight into thinking behind the story lines. The authors seem down to earth and are quite engaging, which is really great and may confirm some theories you may have about concepts in the books.. And of course narration expertly done as always from RC

Story
“Shy” Hunt and the tech team from McAllen Integrations thought they’d have an easy job - set up environmental systems for the brand new Hasanova Data Solutions colony, built on the abandoned ruins of a complex known as “Charybdis”. There are just two problems: The colony belongs to the Iranian state, so diplomacy is strained at best, and the complex is located above a series of hidden caves that contain deadly secrets.

Mostly entertaining with some PC
Reviewed: 08-04-23
Modern day, Geo, political dynamic between America and Iran inserted into this futuristic tail, which was a bit odd. American military portrayed, mostly as war. Criminals, Iranians portrayed, mostly as good. Author seems to have thoroughly researched Iranian culture for the story, which is good, but little over the top. Story is entertaining overall, if you don’t let that stuff bug, you too much performance is mostly good but a few character voices are a bit offputting. Interesting storyline, and fairly good action sequences.

Woke ET adventure

To say this is a PC book would be a bit of an understatement. So far five hours into it every character is a different type of minority, all of the managers or leaders types and competent ones are female. The two white guys are portrayed as a heartless, SS like a scientist and a jealous, immature, reckless guy resents, his female commander. Just got to the first straight married couple in the book. Of course they don’t get along and their relationship is dysfunctional. Will probably continue listening. Simply because the twist on the alien is kind of interesting, but going to be difficult to get through this one.

Story
When the biggest colony ship in human history was sent to settle a paradise world, an accident hurtled it deep into uncharted space. A thousand light years from Earth, with no way home and no way to call for help, the colonists’ only hope for survival was the one barely habitable planet in range, a nightmare world they named Croatoan. Landing on the only five mountain peaks tall enough to rise above the lethal acid clouds, the settlers carved a civilization from the rock.

But when the dig goes silent, an elite team of battle-hardened military contractors is brought in led by former Marine Max Ahlgren. Hard to get through one hour of the story

Entertaining book but for some reason about 6 1/2 hours into it, the main character turns into a blithering, dense idiot. Was very difficult not to delete the book to get through that portion not quite sure what the author was trying to do there, but it seem to be in contrast to the rest of the story and the characters personality up until that point, but if you stick through it, the rest is good
