Not only is the messaging in this book important, but also the person giving the message. It takes a special human to go through hardship , share it and be proud of it , while also educating others on how to find their way to that same place.

Fly Away is the story of three women who have lost their way and need each other - plus a miracle - to transform their lives. An emotionally-complex, heart-wrenching novel about love, family, motherhood, loss, and redemption, Fly Away reminds us that where there is life, there is hope and where there is love, there is forgiveness. Netflix did this story no justice
Reviewed: 02-22-24
I fell in love with the netflix series and as a reader, as soon as I found out that it was a book I had to explore its details. This part of the story wasn't adapted at all and at first i was at a loss, angry and curious as to why not. But after finishing the saga and really absorbing the roots of Tulley & Kate I'm realizing that's part of the gift of this story. It's relatable enough to transcend details and as long as you can allow yourself to really feel it's meaning, you've won.

Story
Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

Shoot even if you haven't experienced any of her work, Her light is something that needs to be fully felt by as many human beings as possible. Her story is one of triumph and of resilience. Also one of bravery and courage. Inspiring read

I enjoyed the predictability of the storyline sort of Beauty and the Beast meets shamelessly unfortunate LOL I won't spoil the plot for anyone. But it's clear of what the solution should be. And the story shows just how complex we humans can make the simplest of things and yet love conquers all. Great story

Story
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date. But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

I absolutely loved hearing about Lily's future through the eyes of Atlas. My only hope is that one day we may get a 3rd book elaborating on how things proceeded forward after the wedding. Everyone knows the wedding is a party, but the marriage is the real challenge, especially with an abusive ex-husband trying to work through his issues, an extra brother, and a stepchild. Perfect platform for book 3 to wrap up everything, but I loved this.

Story
Fat Joe is a hip-hop legend, but this is not a tale of celebrity; it is the story of Joseph Cartagena, a kid who came of age in the South Bronx during its darkest years of drugs, violence, and abandonment, and how he navigated that traumatizing landscape until he found—through art, friendship, luck, and will—a rocky path to a different life. This memoir, written in Joe’s own intensely compelling voice, moves with the momentum of pulp fiction, but underneath the tragicomedy and riveting tales of the streets and the industry is a thought-provoking story about a generation of survivors.
