Story
Every Wednesday, Gretchen Reynolds singlehandedly influences how millions of Americans work out. In her Phys Ed column for The New York Times, she debunks myths, spurs conversation, and creates arguments among her readers by questioning widely held beliefs about exercise. Expanding upon her popular columns, Reynolds tackles the questions we all have and (sometimes) ask about exercise.

Would have liked but for cruel animal experiments

The cruel animal experiments were disturbing. Well performed and interesting. Last chapter was eye opening.

Story
Narrative writing is combined with scholarly ideas in this examination of the psychology of compliance (i.e. uncovering which factors cause one person to say "yes" to another's request). By combining evidence from two relevant but very different arenas - the realm of controlled research and the working world of influence professionals - this audiobook looks at this issue in terms of six basic principles of psychology: reciprocation, consistency, social validation, liking, authority, and scarcity.

Insightful and informative

Fascinating book. Great concrete examples and case studies. Thought provoking. Somewhat frightening to see how easily humans can be influenced without their awareness.

Inspiring and useful

Terrific. Very motivating and done in a great way with concrete suggestions. Good for any age though my focus was 12-14. But after hearing audio, I got hardcopy and the pictures were much more effective than audio alone. I highly recommend the book.
